I've received an email from my local MP's secretary asking if I want them to contact the BPA in the first instance to look at my case again after she saw the email exchanges I had between them and myself. So I have replied that I thought that would be best to start with. I've also sent her the messages between the borough council and myself about them closing my case and said I will let her know their reply.
It seems bad to me that both the BPA and Borough Council just closed my complaint cases without even giving me the chance to comment and see if I was satisfied with their conclusions.2 -
Why are they so hung up on dates? As you've made clearly aware to them all POFA is more than just about dates! 🙄Jenni x3

One of the first things I did was ask the council about planning permission and commercial license for the signs over 0.3m2 in the car park and anpr.
Their planning officer reckoned that Ipserv didn't need a commercial license for their signs as the car park counted as the forecourt of the uni. He said it was the same as with a garage forecourt.
He also said that they don't need planning permission for anpr that is over 2m in height as long as they are less than 10m.
Does anyone know if this is true or are the council trying to pull a fast one?0 -
It’s not planning permission but Advertising Consent that is needed for signs over a certain size, even within premises if they can be seen from the road.
ANPR cameras up on poles (stand alone) requires Planning consent I believe. Not if attached to an existing building.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

A "private company" that has a pension scheme run by Suffolk County Council and is shown in its accounts to be a wholly owned subsidiary of Ipswich Borough Council I smell fish!@fisherjim - it's more than a smelly fish - it's a absolute scam.
@Cardriver45 might be interested in this:
This 'Private' company has managed to escape paying Business Rates on the land it owns - I don't know of any private limited companies that would be able to evade paying Council Business Rates - oh except those companies owned & run by the Council!
@Fisherjim I think this is worthy of a complaint to the LGO - this is is clearly a Council 'who want their cake and eat it' - wanting all the benefits of being a private limited company but not prepared to play on a level playing field - especially when they can make substantial losses that would not be sustainable in a real world business environment but they exist solely with the financial support of Ipswich Borough Council.

I thought the land belongs to University of Suffolk and they then contract Ipserv?
Plus someone parking there has to pay £2 a time so I assume that goes to the University?0
