Hi All.

I currently hold a Nationwide Select Credit Card (which is no longer available to new applicants). However, I am interested in getting a Nationwide Member Credit Card which currently has an attractive 0% on Purchases offer for 15 months).

Hence, do you know if one can hold both credit cards with Nationwide? Or is the Member Credit Card only available to non Select Credit Card holders?

FYI: I am making a large purchase (about £8K in September) and was looking for a good 0% credit card offer.
I am a Nationwide Member (as I hold a FlexPlus Account which is my main current account).

  • I'm not sure if you can hold both but I'm not sure you'd want to.  Are there any benefits offered by the Select card that the Members card doesn't offer?

And are you likely to get such a high balance available on a new card??

Probably not if they already hold a card with them.
  • Just noticed in the terms and conditions

The introductory rates will not apply if you have closed another credit card account with us within the 12 month period before applying for this account.
That does somewhat imply you can't have both, and you won't be able to get the balance transfer offer if you close your existing account and open a new one.

Probably best to phone them for clarification but I expect you can't do what you're trying to do.

You cannot apply if you already hold a credit card with them.

Thanks everyone - that clarifies it! Sadly I cannot get 0% offer on my Select card (as it’s not new)! I’ll have to explore non-Nationwide cards!

Have you checked the Nationwide banking app lately? The reason being I’ve had my Select card for several years, and if I open the app and chose request balance transfer, it gives me the option to do just that with 18 months @ 0%. I never received a specific communication about having a 0% offer or anything, it just appeared there.

Same here, with a 2.4% fee!  In the past I've had letters offering special balance transfer rates, but usually at something like 7%. My 0% transfer with Santander is ending so this is perfect timing.

    Thanks @VAP_Driver

I had a look at the balance transfer on my Select Card through the app like you had stated and yes, I have got 18 months 0% offer on there. So I just need to spend on a different card and voila!
