I am currently on AVRO Simple and Super Glow
Nowhere comes close and even the renewal quote is higher then this. Any suggestions?

You obviously haven't compared using Citizens Advice and 'Which? Switch', for separate suppliers.0

Ok thanks will do that now.
I did U Switch and compare the market and others.0 -

I did U Switch and compare the market and others. They default to showing only the expensive suppliers that pay them commission, unless you manage to find the setting for the whole market, often well hidden.Nor will they compare separate suppliers automatically, you have to do that yourself.0 -
Do keep in mind that you might not be able to find a cheaper supplier than the old deal you quote. Energy prices in general have risen.I'm due to switch fairly soon and I can find cheaper electricity than my current tariff but there are no cheaper gas deals to be had. Even with separate suppliers, my total energy bill will rise.(My current tariff FYI: elec 14.3p/kWh & 15,68p/day, gas 2.705p/kWh, 15.12p/day.)N. Hampshire, he/him. You should be getting the same tariff details from any Ofgem approved comparison site.xlnc99 said:Ok thanks will do that now.

Have you found differing results when consulting "U Switch and compare the market and others."?
If you ensure you are comparing the whole of market (not just those the website can switch you directly to) , then they all list the same suppliers & tariffs. (save for the odd exclusive tariff that has not been available through them, but has been through anoither 3rd party. Exclusive deals are not available direct) .
Does "others" include MSE's own Cheap Energy Club? It defaults to showing the whole of market when you first apply.
- except occassionally when it sometimes seems to default to their 'Top Picks', but you will notice that as it will only show about 3 suppliers/tariffs maximum.
- it gives an on-screen warning if you have set filters previously (as it remembers them for you)

Thanks guys
I cant believe these hidden websites are around and people dont know about it. Its criminal! I already found a few companies that are cheaper then what i was given. Citizen advice seems to be the best, U switch wasnt great. I thought i got a great deal last year, so if i can come close to that i will be happy. Even know im around £500 in credit and in my last month. Was paying 165 DD monthly.1 -
One thing i have noticed is the daily charge doesnt really mean much. Its mostly about the KWH, the cheaper you can find that the better. The daily charge doesnt amount to much over the course of the year even with an increase its only likely to be a few extra pounds.1

As @QrizB says, energy prices have risen recently, as has been mentioned on this very site. Martin was warning about this months ago, and still warns they will rise further for many when Ofgem revises their price cap in the Autumn (will affect those on variable tariffs).xlnc99 said:...

I was looking at my petrol purchase today. This time last year I was paying less than a quid a litre. Today I was paying over £1.25 per litre, and many other places were charging £1.30+.
It's worth considering separate suppliers, but you may well find the Avro even cheaper than separate suppliers, unless you really want to scrape the bottom of the barrel and are prepared to endure some really dodgy suppliers and the hassle (and perhaps later, expense) they will undoubtedly cause you.

I must admit i was very happy with AVRO. No problems, no issues and great customer service. Would love to stay with them but they have hiked up their renewal too much.
In all honesty the deal i got last year was pretty insane. Dont blame them for increasing their prices.0 -
Is there a hidden gem with home insurance too? Any special sites?0
