Gitdog is over-friendly and despite years of training still has impulse control issues when he’s excited. Which is whenever he goes to a new place.
Quite honestly if I’m visiting family or friends I want to relax and enjoy myself. Not be having an idiot bull terrier on the end of a short lead trying to knock everyone and everything over.
So he either stays at home with a dog walker calling in, or he stays in the car if it’s not too hot, of if he’s allowed in the house I take a crate.
Family bbqs are not a barrel of laughs when you can’t eat or drink because you’re hanging onto the end of a lead.
Just because I think he’s great doesn’t mean my nearest and dearest are obliged to feel the same.
Thread drift alert......  Delighted to hear that Gitdog still has his moments! I, along with many others I'm sure, read with great interest and amusement of his stellar efforts to graduate with honours from training. I do love a bull terrier but I know my limitations and will stick to golden retrievers!
Yes, we all love Gitdog - but from a safe distance!!!
