It's a happy ending for most, let's just be happy for them.

Thanks all for the information, I was wondering did anyone get their money before the 10th working day? :-)0

Not me, not yet.Treat others how you would like to be treated. 🤞1

I didn't say you had spent the money, you suggested that because you felt positive it would be justifiable to spend money because you expected it.nufc87kaz said:
Not sure why you felt the need to reply days after this, it contributes nothing. My post didn't say I had spent money did it? I was referring to a previous post.phillw said:
It's very irresponsible to spend money that you don't have just because you feel positive, I don't think the letters are legally binding on them though.nufc87kaz said:
When a bank sends you a letter stating you are due are refund and 'you do not need to do anything, payment will be made in 10 working days' you feel positive that you will receive the money. Yes its all well and good saying wait until you have it before you spend it but it WAS CONFIRMED IN WRITING. It is very irresponsible of them.
Even if you had received the money and they noticed a mistake, then they could reclaim it.
I was pointing out that even after receiving the money they could make you repay it, if it had been calculated incorrectly.
I'm not sure what your post contributed.

What a negative comment, given the stress the recipients have been put under. This will be the SECOND calculation letter. If Santander get it wrong again then they seriously need to take a long hard look at their systems as there would be fundamental issues. In addition the SECOND letter absolutely confirmed the figures the be checked and accurate so why shouldn’t recipients believe the values will be received. Please don’t make comment just to be a pariah - thanks2

Phillw - your 4300 posts indicate your nature to comment on everyone else - have you received a letter - if not, please do not comment2

It's not spending money you don't have. It's be promised money that after the alloted time, hasn't arrived and then having to contact the bank to be told there was a mistake and a new letter is being issued.phillw said:

Thinking about using the promised funds to pay off some debts or using it to clear something urgent is fine. The bank making a mistake and not letting anyone know is the shocking part of this, causing stress and worry for many people.
Your post is the one that was pointless and contributed nothing.4 -
I also received a letter dated 6th July.
I had to return a form confirming bank details. Spoke to Santander who said amount correct but initially they didn't seem to know anything about it.
Has anyone actually received their refund into their bank account yet?0 -
Not everyone within Santander seems to know about it and you can end up speaking to several people.sungo16 said:I also received a letter dated 6th July.

I Have a letter dated the 6th as well and have a santander account which the monies suppose to be transferred directly in.
I rang them this morning to confirm the 2nd letter was all fine, I asked if payment will be made sooner for all the hassle caused they told me it can't and wit letters dated the 6th July they have up till the 20th to transfer funds.
By the sounds of it they will take there time, I'd be interested to know if anyone gets their money before this? I know its coming but would be nice to have sooner later than later :-)1
