I will share his response shortly, although I have also had an email as below from DCB Legal.

    How should I respond?

    Dear Sir,

We write in response to your email dated xxx 2021.

For data protection please provide the following:

    •           Your full name

    •           Your first line of address

    •           Your postcode

Please note, failure to respond to this email with the required information may result in the matter progressing further.

Can you please give us some clues on what that email from DCBL is in response to?

If it's just responding to your request for thirty days delay, then it is not worthy of a response from you. The thirty days have already passed.

It would be tempting to write back that for data protection reasons you cannot tell them but that would get you nowhere!  Don't they already know all this anyway?  Haven't you received PCN(s) in your name to your address

Tidy response from your MP. 👍
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I wrote to them by email to explain that I didn't accept any associated debt was outstanding, and while I was the registered keeper at the time, I needed to seek debt advice so requested a 30 day hold.

I asked for evidence of who was driving and therefore parked the car (which I guess is where the request for my information comes from).

Would I cause an issue by responding with my details - IE is this just a method to trip someone up? I assume there aren't many cases where DCB say "ah fair enough, I hadn't realised you had extended your parking correctly but a system glitch prevented it from happening"?

Latest update. Nothing yet received through the post to follow up, although it hasn't yet been two weeks since the email was sent:

We write in response to your email received in our office on the 25th August 2021.

Please see attached the Charge Notice that was issued to your address on the 6th August 2018. You were afforded the opportunity to; appeal the parking charge, transfer liability to the driver (if it was not you) or make payment. Neither a successful appeal, nor an adequate nomination were received, yet payment remains outstanding.

The Reminder Notice was issued to your address on the 23rd August 2018. This notice reiterated that payment was outstanding and confirmed that legal action may be taken and additional costs incurred if the parking charge was not paid.

If you were not the driver of the vehicle at the time that the parking charge was issued we would require you to send us supporting evidence that demonstrates this. In order to identify the Registered Keeper of the vehicle, our client submitted a request for details to the DVLA. Your details were provided and thereafter notices were sent to you by our Client at your serviceable address. Those notices asked you to either make payment or, if you were not driving, nominate a driver by providing their name and full address. You did neither and as such you are now pursued on the basis that you were driving. On the balance of probabilities, if you were not the driver, you would have nominated.

The balance of £165.00 remains outstanding.

Payment can be made via bank transfer to our designated client account: -  Account Name: DCB Legal Ltd Client Account Sort Code: Account Number: You must quote the correct case reference (beginning ‘10’) when making payment. If you do not, we may be unable to correctly allocate the payment. If further action is taken by us as a result of an incorrect reference being quoted, you will be liable for any further fees or costs incurred.Alternatively, you can contact DCB Legal Ltd on 0203 434 0437 to make payment over the telephone or online at https://dcblegal.co.uk/response/pay-online/  Failure to make payment within 14 days from the date of this email will result in a claim being issued against you without further notice.

It has been more than two weeks - 24th August you said you'd sent them an e-mail if that is the one you are referring to. Did you have a question?

No questions at this point, just an update. Will let you know as and when I receive anything further.
