For what it is worth, I paid £7500 for 17 of the same Jinko Solar panels with Solaredge inverter and optimisers and pigeon proofing.

The Micro Inverters you have specified will be adding about £130 per panel to your quote i.e. around £2000 in total (minus the cost of a string inverter that you would otherwise need(?)).

Thats quite a good price  as I would say the SE stuff would add about £1500 to the basic cost. I also probably depends on when you had it installed as the price of kit has gone up quite a bit in the last 12 months or so . Looking at my old spreadsheet from 18 months ago panels are up 15 to 20%.

Bit of a miscalculation I think panles have gone up more than that more ,like 30% I would assume the other kit as well as the cost of installation has gone up to.

  • Is that for like-for-like in terms of wattage. I note for instance that Jinko panels have a 25 product warranty and a low degradation rate as they are n-type cells.  Would those panel have been around 18 months ago? The closest panel might have been a Sunpower panel at a much higher cost.

    yes like for like

I don't think the Jinko ones were available at the time and I do like the idea of the 25y warranty but I would estimate that the price of them is more expensive that it was. Not sure anything is going down in cost ATM.

  • Must be the day for quotes, just received my revised quote:

    5.46KW SOLAR PV SYSTEM

    14 x 390w Trina panels
    1 x Lux Power 5kw Inverter Hybrid
1 x free lifetime monitoring app
    1 x Cables, conduit, isolators
    1 x MCS certification
1 x HIES insurance backed warranty
    1 x Scaffolding
    2 x 3.5kw Pylontech Batteries (7KW)
    1 x Installation & commissioning - £9,895 fitted inc 5% VAT

Initial impression is that its a reasonable quote.  I've confirmed the Pylongtechs are the US3000C with 95% DoD (Not too sure if the Lux will allow that, and I will probably still with a middle 80% anyway)
I've not seen much of the Trina panels? Anyone have any experience of them?

    Got my first quote in.

    16 x 395w Jinko panels
    Enphase micro inverters
    8.2 kw Givenergy battery

    £12581.28

Looking at the quote in more detail its actually 18 x 395 so 7.1kwh there was a typo in the headline.

Spoke to Eco renewables this morning should be getting a quote soon although he did seem a bit shocked by my 22000Kwh annual usage .
