Going with contact-solar if they will still honour the quote.

Change of plan, eco renewables group gave me a cheaper quote with roof hooks, not limpets. I have managed to get a purchases 0% credit card so can spread the cost over 2 years.

I think that's my final decision.

They did a very neat job at my sons house even ran the cabling through the stud wall rather than on it.  It maybe worth asking about Bird mesh, I don't know if they do it?  We had it retro fitted to our panels clearly I would expect it to be less expensive if done while they are installing.
    3.995kWP SSW facing. Commissioned 7 July 2011. 24 degree pitch (£3.36 /W).
    17 Yingli 235 panels
    Sunnyboy 4000TL inverter
    Sunny Webox
Solar Immersion installed May 2013, after two Solar Immersion lasting just over the guarantee period replaced with Solic 200... no problems since.

13 Feb 2020 LUX AC 3600 and 3 X Pylon Tech 3.5 kW batteries added...

20 January 2024 Daikin ASHP installed

I don't believe I will need bird mesh, the houses that do have panels around here don't have it and it doesn't seem like a problem.

Lucky you.. a lot of people do have issues and mine cost £300 as a complete retro fit for 17 panels.. maybe I was unlucky as I'm the only roof round here with panels so the pigeons loved it ;)
