How's the Growatt? Are you monitoring with the app and/or website?  Which model do you have?
    2 Separate arrays, 7 x JASolar 380w panels (2.66kWp) south facing, 4 x JASolar 380w panels (1.52kWp) east facing, 11 x Tigo optimizers & cloud, Growatt SPH5000, Growatt 6.5kWh Hybrid battery (Go-live 01/12/21) - Additional reporting via Solar Assistant.

Its a Growatt MIN 3600TL-XE, using app and website no problem, also use an API to pull info into Home Assistant, works fine, data resolution is in 5 minutes increments.
4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.

    Thank you, just getting into all this {runs off to research Home Assistant}

  • Just a quick thankyou to everyone who commented on this thread.   I've had a nightmare getting companies to quote and the few that have been mentioned on this thread have been very responsive.

I've been given this quote which at first glance looks a little high.  The 10x405W Ja Solar Panels can currently be sourced from ITS Technologies for £174 inc vat per panel (£1740 total) which including delivery is still south of £2000, so am I missing something in terms of cost of PV Cable, isolators and garage board costing ~£1k?
The other concern is the cost of the Lux inverter at £2776.18!! A post on this thread only 3 months ago had this priced at £1823.80.  Surely these haven't increased in price by £1k in 3 months?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

That contact solar? Their prices have gone up about a grand.

Don't forget to take into account the 'discount' they're showing.

Try eco renewables group, I went off contact solar when they wouldn't use roof hooks on my slate roofs, instead stating limpets are the modern way to do it and hooks are outdated.

Yes it is.  I'd noticed the big discount, but the price for the Lux was pre-discount for the quote 3 months ago too, so its effectively like for like.  I've asked for clarity on the Lux LXP model as it could just the higher wattage one.

I've also contacted eco renewables, I'm in dialogue with them at the moment working on a few tweaks to their stock quote.

Similar kit from ecorenewables is £1k cheaper.

I also have just had an installation from EcoRenewables. Happy with the job and the price.

You probably knows it already but I would be tempted to go for as many panels as you can fit on, even at the expense of some of the battery storage, 'cause it is much easier to add more storage later.

Their installation cost at £1100 is very low. The scaffolding alone for our job was not far short of that.

To some extent, I think the installation cost is also built into the materials cost, so I would take it all with a pinch of salt and just look at the bottom line. The cost of adding extra panels for me with contact solar was quoted at £300 per panel. Which bearing in mind the cost of the panel, installation, mounting, and proportional increase of the inverter does not seem so far off.

    Got my first quote in.

    16 x 395w Jinko panels
    Enphase micro inverters
    8.2 kw Givenergy battery

    £12581.28

8kw system spread over 6 roofs , surrounded by trees and in a valley.
  • Are they able to break that down to take the battery cost out?
