NatWest Rewards email using partial postcode

Anyone else with similar situation as below?
I received an email from NatWest re the Rewards scheme - the email they send every month with how to earn and how to spend.
They use part of ones postcode to verify it is genuinely from them.
I noticed the postcode was not correct and was therefore concerned that my postal address had been changed. You cannot check the postal address simply by logging into the account online and so I called.
The postcode on their system was correct. The explanation for the incorrect one in the email was that someone had manually typed the incorrect digits. I could not believe that they were paying people to manually and individually send these emails out each month to all their Reward current account customers but the adviser could not see the irrationality of what she was suggesting.
Has anyone else received a Rewards email recently which had the incorrect postcode element?

I must be honest and say I don't really look at the postcode usually but have just checked the one I received today which does show the correct last half of my postcode.General_Grant said:Anyone else with similar situation as below?

I had not noticed the post code either. Low and behold, the 3 digits in my email have absolutely nothing to do with my post code!!
I am not going to complain about it as I don't want them to have a closer look at all the reward accounts I have in the Natwest group 😎. I don't much value their Reward partners anyway, as I prefer using TopcashBack/Quidco and a Rewards site I have access to through work and which is significantly more comprehensive and generous as the Natwest/RBS retailer rewards scheme.1 -
My most recent mail is also wrong! I have 3 other mails in my deleted folder, but they are all correct. Very odd, and not much of a security measure really.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Credit Cards, Savings & investments, and Budgeting & Bank Accounts boards. Just checked and my email had 2HJ which is nothing at all like my postcode.
Maybe they put 2HJ on all the emails.2 -
Well - that's the same as the incorrect one on mine too.RG2015 said:Just checked and my email had 2HJ which is nothing at all like my postcode.

Following the statement by the telephone adviser (who did apologise that they got it wrong), the whole team must have the same banana fingers or it's a case of over-work for that person who is sending out thousands and thousands of these individual emails.0 -
If the adviser is indeed correct in their assertion that the post code has been manually typed in, then its more likely that this was a one time exercise to get postcodes across to another system and from then on everything is done automatically - I highly doubt that someone does this for every email that is sent out.General_Grant said:... The adviser was adamant that they were individually produced! (And, no, I didn't believe her on that.)Notepad_Phil said:

She said she could send me an email and that it would include the postcode information. I could believe she could do that but was even surprised (but not disbelieving) that they would need to input the postcode manually when they are logged into a system's database which has the postcode as one of the fields.0 -
Oh poor rep... Really out of their depth.General_Grant said:

Someone must have messed up the script for the emails...Life in the slow lane0 -
Yes, I have been moved to 2HJ too.
