    To be fair to NatWest, the story from 2000 in relation to NatWest was that they kept personal information about their customers.  The "Dear Rich !!!!!!" story did not identify the client of the programmer.

    ... I could not believe that they were paying people to manually and individually send these emails out each month to all their Reward current account customers but the adviser could not see the irrationality of what she was suggesting.
    If the adviser is indeed correct in their assertion that the post code has been manually typed in, then its more likely that this was a one time exercise to get postcodes across to another system and from then on everything is done automatically - I highly doubt that someone does this for every email that is sent out.

    I agree I wonder if the people entering the data were paid per email and realised their work wasn't being checked, and so just entered random stuff.
