I note you are still avoiding saying if you are actually out of pocket or not.
Probably not when you look at the costs of dogs now.

My current pup was cheap in comparison to some pups but that was because he was the runt and no one wanted him.
I am not avoiding anything we won't be out of pocket when they have gone . Emotionally wise we are shattered but that's fine by you isn't it !
You obviously have never looked after 8 pups .
No I've looked after more than 8 pups.

Got up with them thru the night, fed them to give the mother dog a rest, cleaned up after them, fed the runt every 2 hour when his mum rejected him.

Then I will be charitable and assume that is why you are not looking at this rationally or listening to any advice that is contrary to what you want to hear.

Had you been out of pocket, despite reasonable efforts to minimise your losses, you may well have had a valid legal claim for the excess. If you think a court is going to award you any significant sum because "Emotionally wise we are shattered" then I think you are going to be disappointed.

It probably isn't the amount you are looking for but have you considered simply asking the kennels to refund their charges given they failed to provide the care you expected/they promised?

I also wonder what happens if the owner of the staffie gets to hear about its pups being sold and would like a cut?

I was really surprised when I read this thread to learn that kennels would accept a girl in season and that an owner would even risk it. It seems unfair on the other animals too to be in close proximately to the scents. There must have been a lot of pent up urges.

Has it been explained how the were together.

My friend's !!!!!! was staying with a friend while my friend  was abroad for 6 months.

This friend had several dogs as she had her own and also she did breed rescue. She has years of experience in housing males and in season  females.

When my friend's dog came into season she kennelled her  to keep her away from the other dogs.  One morning when she went into the kennels she found  the !!!!!! in the kennel of one of her male dogs.  She had broken out of her own kennel and broken into the dog's kennel.

A few weeks later 4 crossbreed pups arrived,

An in season !!!!!! can be very determined.
