Sallyp2 said:Started reading a FREE book "The No Spend Year" by Michelle McGagh. Its 2017, so not a new book. Am using local library much more to avoid buying books that are read once and gather dust on shelves!
Anyway ... part one is "The Grocery Challenge". Lots of you on here may find it covers what you already do. But I liked these 3 ideas:
1) The Shopping List: Treat your trolley like a nightclub. You are the bouncer. If its not on the list, its not getting in!
2) Its about balance. Eat well and cheaply for the majority of the month, so that the occasional takeaway or meal out is guilt free.
3) Napisan Powder ... bear with me. It costs £4 for 800g in Sainsburys. It is used to treat stains in baby nappies / clothes. Its a fraction of the price of Vanish per 100g
FYI I've put this note on another thread, the book is provoking thoughts!3 -

I think I will be falling off the wagon for today. I was awake half the night with DD (3 months old) and since I had nothing to do whilst stuck under the baby, I wrote a very short targeted list of xmas presents for DS. I then am investigating second hand options and looking for sales/discounts. When something comes up, I will get it. Hoping I will save a lot of money that way and being this stupidly organised!
Anyway, seen a couple of well priced second hand books from the list for DS, so will be buying those to hide away for half a year2025 decluttering: 3,491🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

Declaring day 2 today for me please. Was meant to be yesterday but I stupidly renewed my lottery ticket without even thinking. Have got sausage and pasta for tea as my freezer is full and trying to use that first before buying more to cram in there
