    Hope the coat turns up.

Really hope your sleep improves soon. I've experienced a lot of insomnia in the past and it's so frustrating.

  • No sign of the coat :/ Maybe it will turn up next week.

Worked 4hrs at 2nd job today and it was really, really boring. Just had word that there are no extra hours at 2nd job next week, unless someone calls in sick last minute.

Had a decentish day on Swagbucks, will cash out tomorrow when 800sb have credited. DH cashed out £25 onto a prepaid mastercard, so that'll come in handy. TopCashBack still pending.

Had a bit of unexpected good news. I sold a short story for between £100 and £200 - just waiting for the contract to come through. Also got an offer of £50 for a second story, but I need to check if they'll accept a rights reverted reprint.

The weird buyer didn't turn up today, which is probably no bad thing. DH has reduced a different item by £10 so hopefully that will sell soon.

The worktop people came and measured up, and the worktop will be slightly more than we expected, but not too much. DH is having a bit of back and fore with them on email about it.

My mileage from this week has been approved so just waiting for finance to pay out.

Off to bed with a hot water bottle to read my library book.

Great news that you have sold a story and your doing great with swagbucks. Hopefully you will get some extra hours with 2nd job.

    Have a great weekend xx
  • Dropping in quickly to say we had a FB sale for £40 and cashed out £25 on swagbucks.

Well done on the story. I need to investigate short stories more. Very competitive so sounds like you've done well.

Good luck with DH's job and balancing the books.

  • What a wet, grey world today.

Had a hectic weekend. It was DD's birthday and she had some friends sleepover. I took them to the nearest city for some fun and pizzas and then they watched a film here afterwards. It was quite expensive, but we'd planned for it and I really wanted her to have a good time. Yesterday I had to do even more people-ing and was exhausted afterwards and sleep for 1hr30mins and just hid for the rest of the evening. Annoyingly I was too drained to actually do anything relaxing so I scrolled more than I would have liked, but I'm trying to be compassionate with myself. Even though we could do with the money, I'm relieved 2nd job didn't have any hours for me today.

I *should* have some news about my book this week, and its taking up a lot of my mental bandwidth. Trying not to get my hopes but I know I'll be gutted if its bad news.

We're off on holiday on Friday and I'm trying to clear the decks before we go but m energy levels are so low I'm not sure what I'll realistically be able to achieve. DH will find out if he's keeping his job or not whilst we are away and I have everything crossed because the thought of dropping down to one income at the moment is pretty scary.

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Not surprised you need breaks and rest. I appreciate money wise the holiday is bad timing but in other ways it could be just what you need.

DH sold something on FB for £40, £60 from Swagbucks hit the account and my expenses are being paid either today to tomorrow, so we're about as cash buoyant as we'll likely to be before the end of the month. On top of that DH had £110ish credit to TopCashBack but we're going to convert that into hotel credit for our holiday at Christmas.

Still no book news, fingers crossed for today.

I have a bit of admin-y type stuff to do and I'm glad I conserved my energy yesterday, or I wouldn't be able to face it.

The worktop is going to be installed on the 7th November, so we can get the hob and sink fitted that same week and finally get back to normal.

It feels like I've been on a treadmill for ages and it will be nice to chill for a few days next week.

  • Knackered again today, went back to sleep after the kids had gone to school. Still no book news, kinda gutted. Work expenses didn't land either so not sure what happened there. DH was meant to chat to a recruiter about a potential role, but they never showed up. All in all, not a great day!

  • What a disappointing day for you Piggy.  I write too and it can take ages for people to get back to you.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for the book and DH's job 🤞
