Is there anything to stop terminating the contract keep your phone and then getting another O2 sim free if that is the best network for you.0

Only thing with that you can't pac code from o2 to o2, unless if you tell them put me on to o2 pay as you maybe that will work.getmore4less said:Is there anything to stop terminating the contract keep your phone and then getting another O2 sim free if that is the best network for you.0 -

I got the email too and my plan is less than 25gb , it does tell you when you go to their website you can leave penalty free but the device plan is seperate and you will still have to repay that in full.LBM Debt Total : £48,326.50
Pay All Your Debt Off By Xmas 2023 - #50 £1,495.29 / £12,000.00

I think that depends if you have got the device from o2 or from another company for example carphone warehouse etc. I know o2 separate the mobile package and device cost in your bill but company like above give the device as long as you agree to the contract.ZaSa1418 said:I got the email too and my plan is less than 25gb , it does tell you when you go to their website you can leave penalty free but the device plan is seperate and you will still have to repay that in full.0 -
This is not true in all the cases. If you got your contract directly from O2, they do put the device and Sim charges differently but every third party contract is a only one combined charge hence no separate charges which means they can’t charge you for the device. I confirmed that with the O2 chat team yesterday and will confirm from their helpline before getting my PAC code.ZaSa1418 said:I got the email too and my plan is less than 25gb , it does tell you when you go to their website you can leave penalty free but the device plan is seperate and you will still have to repay that in full.0 -
Yes I'm surprised the fact Three is cutting the fair use in Europe from 20GB to 12GB isn't getting talked about. Whereas O2 going for 25GB which is higher than what Three already capped it at is being talked about more.chistery said:I know people like leaving early and not for the reason they usually use, but who else will you go with? Three is 12GB, Vodafone is 25GB, EE is currently 50GB. What sort of limit do you need when roaming?1 -
Careful what you wish for. I was with Three before changing to O2 last October, I could switch back penalty free (I am SIM only on a 12 month contract and have had the same change of T&C email).makavelianz said:Let us know how you get on, I will. Probably leave aswell I'm. In 9 or 10th month of the 24 month contract get pac and get another contract with threeThree would be slightly cheaper, initially, if I took a 24 month contract - but they increase the cost by 4.5% each April. The Three network, in my rural location, has poor reliability, it used to fail for several minutes every time there was a glitch in the mains suggesting they don’t fit battery backup in many sites. By comparison O2 have not suffered from outages.
My “old” O2 contract from October 2020 increases annually by the rpi rate, which is currently much less than the 4.5% of Three. Note, later O2 contracts will increase by 3.9% + rpi (ouch)!
If you need support, O2 have been much better than Three.
As always, tread carefully and check the T&Cs.0 -

Be careful there - read the T&Cs of your retailer contract. The retailers often reserve the right to charge the retail price (whatever they like) if you cancel the airtime contract. I don't know if these circumstances are excluded.
They may not enforce the right, but it is a risk!Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0
