I had a big birthday in 2020, spent it in Zante, not my first choice as I wanted to spend it in Ibiza, had a table booked in Cafe Mambo but sadly Covid intervened and Ibiza was cancelled. However we really enjoyed the hotel in Zante so much so that we’re returning this year for my birthday 🥳

For anyone that hasn’t been to Ibiza I can’t recommend enough going to watch the sunset from the sunset strip in San Antonio. It’s absolutely amazing, the atmosphere is something else 💕

I’ve never been to Ibiza, is it expensive there.

Depends where you go. The sunset strip and beach bars you’re talking €14-16 for a cocktail or a gin and tonic. €7 for a small glass or wine or small bottle of beer, same price for a water/soft drink. Anywhere else is a lot cheaper. Food prices in restaurants on a par with the UK depending on where you go. You can get cheap, you can get very expensive depending on where you go. We first started going when the kids were little to Es Cana, it’s brilliant there, went back a few times.  Then we went on a sunset cruise to San Antonio and fell in love with it. We’ve also been to Santa Eulalia and Playa d’en Bossa. It’s an amazing place, even the airport is fabulous 😍

I’ve just googled the resorts they are lovely. I’ve probably heard the young ones talking about the strip and that why I’ve always thought it was so expensive.

I’m actually thinking taking time out for a few days will likely be what I want to do. X

I went to Cyprus with a friend for my 40th. First time I went away without my son who was 16, spend all my time worrying about him and not taking him with me. He was getting a holiday with friends that year so he wasn’t missing out  but the mummy guilt still kicked in 🤣.

When it was my friends 50th her work friends took her to a rage room (where you get to smash things up) she said it was brilliant to do something different.

So maybe do a mixture or small things, something with dd/family, chill out with a friend, and do something you never done before.

Do you any have plans for a holiday this year x
  • Morning Parky,

I do love Cyprus too, it’s beautiful.

I’m holding back and waiting to see what happens. Work is unsettled so don’t want to commit to anything yet. I’m sure I will go somewhere I just don’t know when.

I’ve seen the smash things up experience and can’t say I’d like to go! I’m thinking some pamper things, perhaps a meal with family and then something creative with DD and then something for me. I’m not into a fuss so want it to be low key and also not have it turned into being about what other people think should be right for my birthday.

It’s going to be interesting planning x
