Happy 1st January 🎊🎉🥂
I wonder what 2022 has in store for us all. It’s my big birthday in October so I know I have a busy end to the year. I plan on doing some bits for it. Going to try to go for 40 things to do whilst I’m 40. Have to think of what could go on the list. It’s a mixture of little and big!I’ve filled in my budget planner (bought with a voucher in October!) I realised that since remortgaging and borrowing extra I’m actually only £147 higher than when I bought out my ex. I’m not in a position to pay off that £147 but it tells me that by my next payment, my mortgage will be less than it was when I started my single journey. That does include having a new kitchen and en-suite too. The only way is down now!I need to build up my EF. The fence at the back will need replacing this year, it’s in a bad way. I’ll debt pay until that time and then top up what I have already saved when the time comes.I hope I can keep with what I need to make this year my last with a loan. I also hope it’s the year I learn how to save too 😂 it’s about time I learned that skill! Here goes!September 2017 Debt = £25330

Had a nice 1st January. We spent it at the cinema in the morning followed by a relaxed afternoon. DD did some reading for school to get her back into it. She has a book to finish before Wednesday.
I’ve tidied a few drawers out this morning, sanded and oiled the kitchen work surfaces and done a click and collect shop for pick up tomorrow. Need to keep my groceries budget down so that’s a way I know works for me. I’ve got everything I need for DD’s lunches and for me and I can control it and keep it below £28. I’ll need fuel as well for work so I can get that on my way to pick up the groceries. Money will be tight the next few weeks, I’ll likely end up in my overdraft based on the figures I can see. It’s a mixture of extra on groceries and two visits to the pub that weren’t expected. I hadn’t factored them in but had a night off so went out.I’ve also booked a course for February that needed paying up front. It had one space left and the next available one was June so I went for it. I know where the money has been spent unlike previous years 😂. I’ll rectify it in January as it will have to come out of January spends.Need to get the balance right as I had a lot of months out of my overdraft. Credit card is at 0- that was my biggest plan.Tomorrow I’m cooking a slow roasted lamb joint with vegetables. Absolutely love this recipe and it never fails to be amazing as the lamb just falls from the bone. I’ve done an inventory of the freezer and know what I need to be cooking for the next few weeks.I’ve gone through a few bits and I have got another charity bin bag ready. It’ll be dropped off on the way to get my groceries as it’s the same place.I’ve still got a long way to declutter things. I’m making progress though and that’s the main thing. 7 bin bags so far since Christmas. That doesn’t include the carpet and fridge freezer going.I sat in the kitchen and the two rooms I can see have been totally transformed since this time last year. It sometimes doesn’t feel like my house 🤣.I’ve got difficulties with childcare this week but hoping I’ve managed to sort it. Hopefully if my plan works, I can save some money for the week which gives me a better position for January as well.XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
