Oh I didn’t know cinemas were opened on New Year’s Day. I always find the 1st a very long day.
You’ve got good plans for this year well done.
I’m just back from Tesco so it’s a cuppa n cake for me. Enjoy your day x

I didn’t either till I went to book for today and saw it open. It was very busy, lots of families there so must be a popular thing to do x

Being in my overdraft by Wednesday has bothered me somewhat so I’ve been clearing stuff out and found 6 things to sell! They’ll be listed soon. It’s not mega money but certainly enough to help reduce it. I’ll see how it goes this week with them!

Tomorrow I’m cooking a slow roasted lamb joint with vegetables. Absolutely love this recipe and it never fails to be amazing as the lamb just falls from the bone. I’ve done an inventory of the freezer and know what I need to be cooking for the next few weeks.

I sat in the kitchen and the two rooms I can see have been totally transformed since this time last year. It sometimes doesn’t feel like my house 🤣.

Slow-roasted lamb.....yum.  One of my favourites too.  Anything with lamb are dream meals for mecloud9.  That's probably the main reason  the Greek Islands were my favourite holiday destinations over the years.  The Greeks use lamb a lot in their cookeryyay

I assume your ex visits your home occasionall (to see DD maybe) and I wonder what he thinks of the amazing transformation you've made of it since he left.

I love lamb, it’s my favourite meal.
He visits weekly but doesn’t comment other than asking for his money when I decided to have the kitchen done. It’s my taste anyway so he’ll probably not like it, we never did agree on styles.

I loved how Cypriots cooked their meat too. In a clay oven slowly for 12 hours. It was delicious. X

Back to work with a bump! All bills that were due out on the 1st are now out and I’m £30 in my overdraft. My other account has £20 in so it’s minus £10. I’ve got £55 of bills left and a shopping that I will keep around £27. I’m owed £40 so thinking around £70 in overdraft at payday if I don’t have anything unexpected. If items sell, then I might just break even which would be a great way to start the year.

Here’s  hoping I make it with no overdraft for January. 🤞🏻

I'm sure you'll manage it, Willow.  You are so ingenious in your money-juggling and always manage to come up with something.  It's just those totally unexpected and unavoidable expenses which suddenly appear and totally floor us though, isn't it?

I used to have debts (I won't embarrass myself by saying how much they were at their worst!) but since being debt-free since 2018 I've been mega-careful.. I haven't dipped into my overdraft once except for just before Christmas when I needed to pay for quite an expensive item in cash.  It's the only payment method they'd accept.  I had to withdraw £500 in cash from an ATM from an account that I just keep as a back-up account and barely use, I just keep about £250 in it for emergencies. I still have a £500 arranged overdraft facility on it though. Silly me had left my credit cards and other bank card at home. The bank's Fraud Department phone me several times during the day, (on the landline which DH answered as I was still out and  scared him half to death in case I'd been the victim of some fraud and lost a lot of money) to verify it actually was me making the withdrawal (anything over £50 in cash from an ATM was so out of character for me with this particular account and even then it was only about a couple of times a year).  When I got home I did an online transfer of the £500 straight back into my account from my main account but I was still charged overdraft fees although I was in the overdraft for less than  one full  day.  Needless to say I won't be making that mistake again.

Thanks Fidelia, overdraft down to £18 so the £20 in the other account covers it for now. Until next week anyway.

I sold an item and found £8 in another account to sort some of it out. Should get £20 tomorrow that I’m owed. Shopping of £27 ordered for Saturday and that will see me through till payday.

Likely need £70 to keep me out of it as I suspect I’ll need some fuel next week again. Another £10 should do it

I’m £2 out of my overdraft! Still got bills coming out. I do have some sales that are looking likely to go through so it’s touch and go whether or not I end up in my overdraft at payday time. 🤞🏻I manage to scrape out of it x

Still hit and miss. Two bills out so in a minus now. Shopping due tomorrow.
I’ve got bids on items so positive that way and bank switch has gone ahead with no issues so that’s £125 due x
