Don’t worry about your work and the extra pressure on your colleagues. Unfortunately it can’t be helped nobody wants to be stuck in for ten days.

Sorry to hear this, what a blooming palaver 😩 Unfortunately the way of the world at the moment.

My line manager said the same thing. I haven't been off throughout yet a ton of my colleagues have had several bouts of 10 day isolation over the year that has been going on. There isn't much I can do about it though.

    Morning all,

Shopping is being delivered today. Cost of £30. I have had to get some more bits with us being at home for the whole week as well as next weekend. It has unluckily fell where it is two weeks of self isolation but that can't be helped so we need to ensure we are stocked up.

DD is fine and has some online learning to do everyday. She also has a zoom call with her class every morning so that she can see them and also see her teachers. There was one yesterday and it was nice for her to see everyone. She's already asking if she can go back to school.

I struggled yesterday as I like to be out and had plans to do some shopping and pick DD up from school. Instead, I sorted out her clothes drawers and started to move and clean the conservatory. I finished work (from home) at 1pm yesterday as it was well being afternoon so I used the time to have a good sort out. I will do the same everyday. I have to work as I have some learning schemes to write, but I will be also ensuring I am sorting through the house bits. The kitchen had a good sort when it was changed over so that is fine. DD's room and toys and the spare room are the ones that need tackling the most. I have done bits in the garage but that is another area of need. Those that read my previous diary will know how determined I can be and how I will absolutely just get stuck into it all. Yesterday I managed to fill a bin bag and a carrier bag of clothes and a bin bag of broken toys. I suspect I will have the same again today when I start to sort through some of her boxes.

Money wise is no change. My credit card is down to £576. That is where my current focus is. It's a 0% on purchases so I am not paying any interest on it yet but it is the one I want to get back down to 0. Once that is clear, I can shift focus to the loan. I do have some things for sale and if they sell, then I will be able to clear the credit card and then focus on the loan from July pay. It is a niche item though so not sure if they will sell. I can only wait and see and have both plans ready to go. The childcare and fuel saving are being left as I slightly over paid on the credit card this month forgetting a bill. I don't want to be paying overdraft fees so will leave it and then overpay at payday if the money is left.

I have a voucher for £10 off a £15 takeaway so will be getting DD and I one this week. We haven't had one in ages and we both need a little treat. I plan on keeping it at £15 so only £5 spend. That will come from the childcare saving last night for not having DD picked up. £10 saved from this so £5 left over. DD can't attend one of her clubs this week as well. Most are paid through direct debit but one is pay as you go. That is an £8 saving so takeaway at £5 is okay to do tonight. The rest of the money will be absorbed by the extra shopping.

Here's my goals until pay day on the 15th.
Attempt to stay out of my overdraft
Don't add anything to the credit card
Don't spend the childcare and fuel saving
    List 5 items to sell
    Clear out DD's room
    Clear out the conservatory.

Should be okay to do most of them!

Sympathies to you two as well. It’s so hard. Has to be done but I’m not used to be stuck in.

Yes, my parents are away so I’m really struggling to get anything without home deliveries. I need to pick up my prescription too. My neighbours have offered to help as they are in the same boat but not on their own. At least one of all our children have to isolate but not any of the parents. They can go out when the other gets home so have offered to help me that way. Very grateful to them.

    Morning all,

An interesting development from last night. I’ve been trying to get garden furniture for months and have some in order. It has been put back several times so last night I requested to cancel it. That £440 coming back to me.

I still need some garden furniture but as I’m coping ok with the two chairs, I’m not going to rush it. That’ll be used initially to pay off the credit card and then that will be almost clear.

Going to make some Samosas today with DD. We didn’t get round to doing them yesterday and we’re going to use my new paella pan to cook them in.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone x
