Try not to compare yourself to others, we only see the swan floating on the water, not the feet paddling like pistons underneath!

Don’t compare yourself to anyone else you only see what people want you to see they probably look at you and wish for your life you are doing a great job 👏
    Thanks both,

I know you’re right and I’ve moved away from this x

You're going to smash it 100%. Maybe keep your holiday home in mind when you want to hit the shops I know it's a lot easier said than done but having a goal to work towards may help.
alt80, I've always been an avid Comper.  Won lots of lovely money-can't-buy prizes and experiences too over my lifetime.  Sadly, I don't do it much nowadays since so much seems to be via app or social media.  I think I must be a masochist and enjoy making things hard for myself!  I only mentioned the comping because your idea is excellent.  We once had a guest speaker at our long-defunct Comping Club who advised us to stick  pictures of our dream win somewhere like on the bathroom mirror so we'd see them regularly and boost our motivation to keep on going.

@Fidelia thanks. Probably sounds a bit sad but I used to have a picture of my next door neighbour’s house saved on my computer.  I had it in my head I was going to buy it when I was building my business and living in flips years ago. Nothing I wanted more than a house similar to the one I live in now. At the time I lived in various flip projects, same area which is at least nice but proper building sites on the way ‘up’. Didn’t buy the house I took a pic of but I did buy next door. So yeah, maybe something in what you suggest.

    Morning everyone,

    It’s Friday!
hoping to not spend anything other than what is needed for the food shop and fuel.

Stocking up on meats means I only need fresh food this weekend.

I’m really tired this week. There’s a lot going on with work and a lot of people off at the minute which means I’m having to do a lot more. Tired doesn’t even come into it, I could sleep at 8pm.

Money is ok. Bills come out on the 1st so that’s when I’ll know where I’m up to.

Well today has changed the next week.

I got a text from DD's school saying her bubble needs to isolate for 10 days so that is my pretty much home for a week. That will mean a £20 saving in fuel though and also childcare costs. My childminder is off at the minute so I have been having a back up one that I only pay if I use. That means I have paid for this week but won't be paying for anything next week. That is £40 saved and then the £20 fuel.

I have to look at the positives of it all otherwise I will cry. I have no option but to 'work from home' but I can't actually do my job from home so will be doing anything I can to make sure that I am not seen to be not pulling my weight. It is the only time I have been affected by it over a longer time than a few days so they know I am not doing it to take the mick. I just feel so helpless as a lot of my colleagues are having to pick up extra work now that I am not in.

Anyway, I am out of so much food so will have to ask my family to help me get a few bits in. I do have some gin so will have a glass of this tonight. x
