Three years to get debt free

Another day not going to plan. DD's dad was able to take her to her club and then it's Sunday so his day to have her for the day. I was helping my cousin clear out some bits and then DD texts to say she's coming home as she's tired. Had to cancel helping and come home as DD doesn't want to go to my aunties with her not being there, but needed to finish something.
I had some planned chill time this afternoon with my jigsaw and my new diamond crafting. Hopefully DD is settled for the day.
Tomorrow was a planned chill day, but DD won't do two in one go, so I'll have to now think of something to do. I wish my ex wasn't so useless, it doesn't help any situation at all.

Losing track of days. I've been watching a series of netflix called Black Doves.
I'm trying to be productive and decluttered a drawer of paperwork yesterday. I need to get back into the routine of decluttering as I seem to have accumulated a lot of stuff again. Helping clear my aunties house out was an eye opener. She has so much stuff and I know I've got a lot more than she has.
Money was OK. Maintenance from my ex was due yesterday but would come in today and hasn't. Sometimes it comes in later in the day.
Got a few bits planned for this week, but nothing too much. I took all my Christmas decorations down inside yesterday as well. Getting them back in the loft was hard. I've left the outside ones for now.
Hope everyone is enjoying their time and get some relaxing done.

Hi Willow, sorry to hear about your aunt and your nana figure, I hope you're taking care of yourself as much as you can.
Also sorry to hear that your ex is being useless with your DD as well. 😠 I hope she isn't too upset by his carry-on, I had a useless dad as well, the only decent (although selfish) thing he ever did for me was going and staying gone. So at least he wasn't in and out of my life and confusing/upsetting me, I have nothing to do with him. Your DD knows that she can always rely on you and that's the important thing.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Thanks Sashy,
Starting the year with 2 funerals will be hard, but will get through it.
Got to look at the positives and although it has been a tough year, I'm ending it financially much better than I have ever been. I have an emergency fund, paying all debts down monthly, able to save and also buy myself little treats. I can't complain at that considering so many people are struggling. I know money doesn't buy happiness and I'd happily give it up to change the year I've had.
Looking to the new year and hoping I can make some positive changes xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Happy New Years Eve,
I'm a quiet new year fan and I'm usually in bed by 10pm!
We have something planned this afternoon with my close family and I'm looking forward to that. We will be home by around 9pm.
Ex's money came in this morning and my extra job too. That's accounted for though and maintenance money will pay for DD's clubs.
Finishing the year in a very strange position. I've achieved a lot financially. Reduced my outgoings by a few hundred pounds, got an emergency fund, paid off a lot of additional debt too. Feels very strange to have finally evened out myself. Still a very long way to go, but I have plans.
Have a lovely last day of 2024. I hope 2025 brings everyone what they need.

So sorry to hear about your losses Willowtree and your unreliable ex
I am glad though at least you have some financial stability and hope 2025 brings an easier yearDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
