Three years to get debt free

Morning,
I didn't realise how long it had been. I haven't been keeping up with this for weeks now!
I am still working through my summer job. Now it is all extras and I am grateful to have the opportunity to earn so much more. I have bought my air fryer and steam mop already! Love the air fryer but the steam mop hasn't arrived yet. The money I am earning now will be for the little treats like my bath products and the expensive chocolate I love. The job isn't endless and I am surprised I have managed to get so far with it and earn so much. This is the most I have ever managed to earn. I can't express how lucky I feel being able to bring in the little bit extra and now get myself some nice treats.
I have had some results back from my back and have a follow up appointment in the next few weeks. It isn't the news I wanted to hear and although I am relieved I know what it is, I know the implications could be surgery and in all likeliness if not now, then surgery will be likely in the future because of what it is. It is spinal surgery and this comes with its own risks. This means that the September thing I was so looking forward to can't happen.
Money is okay but not great. I am in my overdraft purely because I haven't been paid the £202 expenses I am owed. My credit card has the holiday on it as well. However, I have already earned the money to pay off both of these things before I purchased anything so it is frustrating that the money is owed to me but hasn't come in. The holiday is split between my sister and I too. She has paid a proportion so not all the credit card is mine. I have allocated the full credit card bill to me so when my sister pays the rest, it will be used as the holiday spending money.
The £3200 also hasn't come in yet. I know one cheque is on its way so I do know that at least half of it will be here in the next few weeks. I know it will all come in as I have had confirmation, it is just a case of waiting. Unfortunately, like anything, waiting for things is not my forte!
Hope everyone else is okay?

Hi,
it’s been a few weeks again! Lots has happened.I’ve finished my summer job now. I’m waiting payment for most of it and it’ll likely come in three bits.I’ve also received the first £1700 of what I was getting. That’s currently waiting to clear in the bank.Last weekend I visited a friend who has moved into a farm. The land was enormous and just being on there was so peaceful. Not sure what’s happened with the rabbits but they’ve taken to sitting on the hutch roof as oppose to going in it now.I finish work for summer next Friday. That will be good to have some time off. Lots of jobs booked in as always!
Today I’m at a works do. It’s an afternoon evening thing so those of us with children can go. DD will be with me so it won’t be a late one.
I’ve had my results back and the only ‘fix’ the hospital have is surgery. They’ve given me three options 1) medication 2) spinal epidural injections 3) surgery. All are non starters for me. I’m exploring other avenues at the minute as the surgery runs some risks. Worst being complete paralysis but there are other complications too.Money wasn’t so good however, most things now paid off and the stream of extras I was expecting has started to arrive. All good especially now I know what I’m dealing with back wise. I have a meeting with work next week to discuss next steps.September 2017 Debt = £25330

Kind of a mix of news there then. Good on the summer job being done with and the shiny cash.
Must be worrying re your shoulder/back.. It is shocking that a work injury is so bad. I know I am going to sound like a hippy dippy loon and obviously I don't know what you have done but is there are a chance that good nutrition, physical health - so yoga and Pilates to build strength would help with the success of the op? Yoga has worked wonders for one of my friends, she is far more flexible and her back injury has improved, cos it is supported by a rock solid core. Would something like that help? do you have that already?? I don't suppose the doctors really have time to discuss it all. With Mum when ever I have asked about diet and exercise for example some vague comments about it all helping and vegetables was all I got! I know when I briefly did yoga for a couple of months I felt better. Never been able to get back to it mind!
Put yourself first at work. All the time.

I’ve never been accepting of medical advice being the only thing there since a failed procedure when I was 16 so my eyes are already on the ‘what else is there’ ideas.
Don’t get me wrong, the NHS saved my life with the Sepsis I just want to look more holistically too. I’m considering all options. I’ve got an appointment soon to do some initial work to establish some kind of holistic programme from a qualified back specialist. It’s a spinal injury so I do have to be very careful. It was actually 4 injuries at work so each have played a part.I’m grateful for the money, it’s helped significantly xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
