Does anyone else have those days where they just feel like no progress is being made? I’m having one of them today. I’m looking at the garden and it just looks and feels so awful.

I have such a beautiful house but not the money to sort out what it is that I want to do.

I wonder so much what I used to do with my money when there were two incomes coming in. I just wish I had the knowledge then to change things over

    Morning,
I think we just wasted so much money in the past and have nothing in particular to show for it. I feel it’s only since I started budgeting that You appreciate how much things cost and what you have achieved.

For the garden I would just concentrate on one area for you like your seating area have some planters etc and leave the rest of the garden for the rabbits like you say No point doing anything they’ll just destroy it.
When my son was young always playing football so my grass always had in goals bald or muddy patches.

I think because your not 100% you’re probably over thinking things.  Look how much your have upgraded your home when your finances change so will your garden.

    Enjoy the sunshine today x

Sorry to hear about the windscreen and that you’re still not feeling great Willow.

I get the feeling of one step forwards and two steps back all the time. You’re doing great though and will be able to sort the garden at some point. Parkyp is right, even if you get one area sorted for yourself it would help.

Thanks both. Sometimes it just feels like an uphill struggle.

The windscreen is £144 to replace so that’s now booked in on Thursday. That’s the £150 gone from the council tax rebate! At least it’s not gone straight out of my bank without prospect of it coming back in.

I’ll do the tyre later to see if it’s a slow puncture. I need DD to read out the numbers which she does whilst I’m putting air in.

I’ve redone my broadband too. £5 a month cheaper and £66 cash back too. That will come in in about 5 months as it’s always taking ages to get the cash back confirmed.

My home insurance is also due. I pay annually and that’s £50 cheaper than last year. It’s still £190 due out though in the next few weeks. I need to remember April is a renewal month and have money set aside.

It’s not so sunny here today. I’ve managed to sort out something in the garden though. Something that’s been bugging me so glad I got it done this morning.

Tyre done and I know which wheel to keep an eye on.

I’ve also decided to use the switching money to get some of the jobs in the bathroom done. I was waiting until it was replaced, but there’s no point now as it might not be for a while.

I’ve got a quote for the three jobs that need doing and it’s within my switching fee amount so I’m going to go ahead with that.

The little bit at a time quote from one of you lovely people made me realise I just need to do a bit at a time. Making the bathroom completely usable is worth it and will last me another 12 months at least. I should have an idea for my future then anyway!!

I’m also going to do the garden that way too. One bit at a time. I tried to repair some of the rabbit damage earlier but as quickly as I’m filling in the holes, they’re digging them back out 😂.

I’ve now got a clear set of ideas for each part of the house I want doing. It’s going to take at least a year, but it’ll be done at a cost manageable way.

Thank you as always for helping me see the way through x

  • It might be better for the garden to put the rabbits in an enclosure? or give over part of the garden to them? They are absolute sods I agree!

    Bathroom sounds good XXXX
    Nevertheless she persisted.

I tried that Buffy but it wasn’t big enough for them and we ended up with rats due to how it was. X

    Morning,

Much more productive today. Bathroom bits should all be fixed which will mean the sink and toilet will be usable again.
A cost but as I can’t see me being in a position to replace the bathroom, then it’ll keep it workable until I can change it. I’ve already got plans to start the job myself and do the bits I need to do.

I’ve got a garden plan too that works round the rabbits and should be what I need to make it feel more presentable. It’ll involve a no rabbit zone where I can grow plants without them digging them out or jumping in the pots to eat them. That way I can have the balance of how I like the garden without them being caged up in too small an area.

My friend will be paying this weekend so that’s the £115 coming in.

I’ve turned the heating off at home too. It’s warm enough now to not have it on. Hopefully that’ll reduce my costs too.

them moving in and foxes are my greatest worries with outside buns. Inside buns caused damage tho, so I couldn't keep them inside anymore (plus now with five, no thanks). Mine live in an aviary but honestly having rabbits and the accompanying expense is one reason why my savings aren't were they should be...

A lot of people cage their garden rather than the rabbits ;) it is definitely the way to go.

    Thanks,

I did try a small area for them but they soon destroyed it and had no grass which isn’t ideal. It’s that fenced area I’m going to turn into a ‘no rabbit zone!’ now. They destroyed my grape vines that were fruiting, killed my apple tree too. This way , I’m going to be able to grow things again without them destroying that part.

I have long term plans that I’ll implement when they’ve gone.
