Eon Next FiT payments

Options
Hello, been transferred to Eon Next from nPower and have submitted my first reading to Eon Next on 1st of month. With nPower, payment was in the bank account within 10 days. Eon Next are quoting up to 4 weeks!! Can they hold onto nearly £300 in FiT payment?

They claim it’s because we’ve only just come across to them! They manage to get a statement to me within a few days of the submitted reading so why not the payment soon after?

I get the feeling they are withholding the money so they get the interest.

Can I do anything about this?
Thanks

4 weeks interest on £300 is around 25p.
It seems likely that they are telling the truth when they say that it's due to your move from nPower.
My FITs have also moved from nPower to E.On Next so I guess I'll have the same delay.

I've been with Eon for my FIT payments since I got the panels, I normally receive the payment 7-10 days after I submit a reading, so it should be better next quarter.

Thanks, I get that it’s hardly big money from just one customer, but if they’re doing it to all then that’s a concern.
  • Hi. I was with n-power too. Submitted my reading to eon on 1 June and still waiting for payment on 15 July. They told me it could be up to 60 days for payment. Even though I'm not desperate for the cash I still think it's very poor. How can it take so long in this day and age?

SSE state the FIT will be paid within the quarter but always pay within 10 days or so

Hi Tim. Thanks for the info. Might try changing to SSE then  if eon don't get their act together on future payments. Cheers Chris
  • I've been with Eon for my FiT payments since 2010. I submit my generation reading on the last day of the quarter and receive the money in my bank account within two weeks so I don't understand what the OP has been told.

Those of us who have been moved across from nPower are experiencing delays in our first payments. Hopefully these delays are a one-off and second, third etc. payments will be more timely.
(I submitted my generation meter reading on the 24th and have yet to be paid. I'm not worried yet.)

EON isn't the same as EON Next. They use a completely different system hence the delays. Anyone who has a FIT account with EON will be moved to EON Next so expect a delay when that happens.

Have you got a link to confirm that EON are moving their FIT accounts to EON Next as it is the first I have heard of it?
