Hi everyone, I have lowered what I have allocated to £15, and the rest will be a very small buffer, ha ha!! Not spent anything yet but nearly out of coffee so will get that tomorrow after I withdraw my money from from the acc. I can do this I'm sure.
Thriftwizard, I have a lottie as well, well half plot I think and its surprising how much you can grow, I also like going there for a pootle around, it's very "mindful" I think the word is

I am abandoning July as it has just been too chaotic to keep track. Having a last minute break away (in a relatives caravan) at the seaside this week so just going to enjoy the sunshine and not count the pennies too much).
Will try harder in August 😉7 -
My weekly Lidl shop came in very low at £49.83 this week. I didn't buy alot of salad or vag as finding it really hard to gage how much of what we'll eat in this weather so planning a Tesco trip tomorrow to top up there and get some other items i couldn't find in Lidl.
Freezer is looking very bare, will be in need of the Musclefood order early in August but enjoying the variety from getting meat elsewhere.
Semi meal-planned this week, still focusing on using cupboard stores as well - so many packets of wholewheat noodles and black bean spaghetti!!! OH is reigniting his training regime this week so snack cost will be down but real food cost up, with a few off plan meals i can normally get it to balance out.
Lettuce is ready in the garden, but still waiting for peppers, squash and edamame beans. All growing in pots and i'm a bit rubbish at watering so definitly not the food source of others, but the seeds were free and paid £2 in total for a few plants and maybe £8 for some compost, so it's a nice manageable size to look after with DD who enjoys potting and watering.

Smoosh said:We've been very lazy, we haven't eaten a lot of our meal plan and I still haven't done a shop. We had to have our cat PTS on Saturday after a short illness so we are feeling a bit lost. £26.18 on some bits from coop and fish and chips (usually wouldn't pay for this from the grocery budget, but thought why not just this once).
£169.72/300.

@Smoosh, adding my sympathy for the loss of your furbaby. They do leave such holes in our hearts...
No spends to report, though there'll be a little top-up tomorrow, but I had fun with a little something from the 'lottie today. I discovered you can make string from rhubarb "peel" so have spent a merry hour twisting & twining in the shade, it being too hot to do anything more sensible! It's quite tough, and also very pretty. Lots of rhubarb has been prepped for the freezer, and I'm delighted to report that somehow I have managed to grow a whole cabbage! Three of them, in fact! All my previous efforts have just ended up in heaps of horrible whitish slime; I have no idea why. But this year, despite the rain & gloom, a few decent cabbages have actually emerged. Triumph at last! I'm putting some mooli seeds in later this week - there will be home-grown kimchi...!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5 -
Hi everyone
Sorry to hear about your cat Smoosh- they leave a such a big gap x
Drew out my £15 and bought coffee and bread which came to £4.36. It was a large jar of coffee and cheap bread!!!!
Tomorrow I won't be buying anything but will go to the allotment to pick veggies for next couple of days, I can see a few rice and pasta dishes coming up.

I've spent £1.80 on a 4 pint of organic milk and managed to avert my eyes from the rest of the shelves and get out before the temptation became too strong so my new total is £136.74/£124 with a daily average spend of £7.19.
My veg box is being delivered tomorrow so I've inventoried the fridge and am appalled at how much there still seems to be left to consume so I have high hopes of being able to get near the end of the month on existing supplies.5 -
did the top up spend at Tesco last night and puts my total for the week closer to normal.
£42.03 spent
£8 on meat for dinners, should get 6-8 portions
£12 on egg whites
£8 on turkey rashers - these should last about 3 weeks
Updated total £312.88/£450.00
Musclefood are doing lots of 'Freedom Week' deals so will bring forward my planned order into July after all to take advantage of these.
Managed to cook up a sweet potato curry for the fridge/freezer last night so that's a couple of easy\cheap meals sorted.
