Zipvit are a good company. I have been using them for about four years. Just had three packs of free multivitamins as I phoned in a bulk order for all the family. One time they ran out of the pack type that I prefer (zip bags) and received an apology plus a free pill box. They have the best price I have seen fo far for Omega 3 essential fatty acid.

No one I know who has tried glucosamine has kept on with it. They all said it

My mum has been taking 1000mg of Glucosamine for the last year. She had pains in her foot whilst walking and now she has no pain since taking the tablets. She has just asked me to reorder but I wondered if it is worth going for the 1500mg one or the glucosamine + chondroitin ones mentioned given that the 1000mg seems to be working fine at the moment?

Also there doesn't seem to be much in it between the simplysupplements 1500 mg and the Zipvit A30h price wise after discounts (I am buying 2 lots of 360)... so is there a better option e.g. is one smaller than the other? Or better quality?

If she is finding this level satisfactory then I'm not sure it's worth going for higher strength.

I doubt there is any significant difference between the 2.

I ordered 3 different supplements from Simply Supplements. It took over a week to receive part of the order. They advertise next day despatch if you order before 1230. Absolute Tosh! I am still waiting for the rest nearly two weeks later. I telephoned them and they said they are waiting for stock to come in. I will never deal with them again. I should have stuck with Zipvit who have never let me down and who even text you when the order has been dispatched.

Zipvit aren't perfect all the time though. They let me down once when they ran out of omega juice. I think in the best run of businesses occassionally things go wrong. SS haven't messed me around yet so I'm still using them as I still use Zipvit.

I wrote to both Zipvit and SS about the fact that the vitamin d they supply isn't suitable for older people as it's known that while young people can metabolise Vitamin 2 (albeit very inefficiently about 33% gets wasted) older folk are even less capable of metabolising it (about 70% gets wasted). Both firms should make it clear on their advertising that they supply Vitamin D2 and this isn't very effective for the majority of their customers. If they switched to Vitamin d3 Cholecalciferol it would cost no more but be very much more effective. I was quite polite and included a copy of the research on which my understanding is based.

As yet neither ZIPVIT nor Simply Supplements have replied. So both are in my bad books for misleading the public.

If you are over 60 you can get Glucosomine free on prescription from your GP. I get 750mg tablets from my GP regularly.

Ask your GP for a prescription.
