    Seems my debt been sold on to bw legal who are now sending threatening letters for payment and added costs. Should I respond.

    You might alo consider forwarding your MP's letter to the Chief Whip of the Party.  Such a response is shameful.

    No, it hasn't.  Debts can't be sold in this industry.

    You'll know from the NEWBIES thread 2nd post how to respond if you actually have a LBC or Letter of/before Claim.

    I sent it to the conversative person who heading up the legislation he said was bad but basically not much he can do

    Yes, it's a different company. But the "debt" hasn't been sold on - the debt collector is working on a no-win, no-fee arrangement and the "debt" still remains with the parking company. The same as with EVERY case here (before they go to court - if they do). :)

    Definitely not been sold on , b w legal are a sub contractor working on behalf of the claimant !

    No different than employing an accountant firm or a night cleaning team

    Read the second post in the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum in announcements , if the letter gives you 30 days notice , or the fourth post in the newbies FAQ sticky thread if the letter gives you 14 days notice
