Morning, you all amaze me. You're all so great.
Yesterday was a strange day, OH has known unofficially about work changes which will impact him but yesterday he actually got the call which said 'we want to give your job to someone else' to which he said he didn't want what they were offering him. Employment law here means that they have to lay him off. It is what we want but would have prefered it in 6 months to a years time and yes we have been planning for it, but it was quite peculiar now that it is looking like a reality. So not much flying got done.
Bedding on spare bed washed and dried.
Kitchen put to bed so nice this morning
Shower wiped down
Bed made, clothes picked up
Savings and spending sheets up to date
It's very hot here at the moment so not much gets done in the afternoons, I'm at work today and friends arrive this evening so I guess not much else will get done.12 -
Morning all,
Yesterday disappeared in a haze of work and errands. A quick fish finger supper, HHI and that was me done. DD elected to spend the whole evening downstairs with us, which was lovely but probably more accurately reflects her level of boredom. Still, she managed to turn a cheap cs find into something she likes, by rummaging through the recently sorted spare bedroom. I was sadly proud that I could lay my hands on everything that she asked for, it was so organised!
Today I have to buck up my flying ideas, although I really would like to find the time to pot on some plants, still not done. Bed stripped, bedding in wm, and I am showered and dressed, which is a start. DH is on a work call, and I think I am taxi for DD later.
Round, I hope you are ok, my lovely x
Iona have a lovely holiday, flymeet and a totally deserved rest x
Narc0 - busy as ever, then?! xKaz - take care x
Mademoiselle - DH was told earlier this week, yet again, that his job is moving. This is the 3rd time in the past year, and we are still waiting to see when he actually will lose his job. Like you say, you plan for it in your head, but when the possibility becomes nearer a reality, it still surprises a bit x
Take care all. Love and hugs x9 -
Morning xx
I was up early to get that first eye drop in. I've had my breakfast and two brews. I've made my bed, fed the birds, filled the bird bath, put out the recycling and brought in the brown bin which was emptied earlier. DS's Dad put the bin out for me as it was filled with garden waste and heavy.
No parrots needed (so far) today, my pupil is shrinking back to normal, my eye is tender but not too bad unless I look to the left. Must remember to turn my head to look at the clock.
Another quiet day planned.
Love to all

MorningMademoiselle I hope your OH gets some sort of pay off to go with this layoff, I wish him well for the future.General type stuff done around the housePlan is to cut the lawn later on.Trying and currently failing to arrange for 5 tonnes of top soil to be delivered, folk not returning calls / mis quoting / and such like, how I wish I had an open backed type lorry as loads of folk offering top soil free of charge, but it is what it is.It seems a community nurse may come and visit today, I am guessing the nurse is what I use to know as a district nurse, so we will see who turns up.Have a good dayBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

OH playing in the garden.. I pointed at some flower-less planters and said he could empty those (so we can fling them) and mince the grass. I will have order out there!! He is weeding everything too so should be out there a while. He doesn't know it yet but powerwashing the pavers is his next job
He needs to find the battery pack for the hedge trimmer too because the bush is wild.
I've loaded the WM, and the DW, hung out 2 loads of wet stuff. Printed off returns paperwork and returned a thing. I need to sort a clothing return and 3 ebeast parcels.. The bins all need emptying too. Emails sent.
I need some pack up bits so will have OH on that as well.. he is at work later on so making the most of him before he goes.
We are having a very Dot day.. she went into school barefoot because it was the wrong socks.. They can get her in the darn things.. lol
Off to make a cuppa.. anyone want one? I have some boring dog biscuits (no chocolate) if you want to help yourself.. calorie zero!

Narc0lepsy said:Next major panic is a "Business Continuity Management Questionnaire" which is pretty incomprehensible and irrelevant to a sole trader. Not sure how happy they would be if I just wrote "I rely on Microsoft Office for all my data so it it breaks I'm buggered. And as there is only me running the business, if I die then no more work will be done".

My feet hurt.. they are all tingly and horrid.. I have poofy ankles.
Form handed back from the class teacher so I have emailed that to the consultant so hopefully we can get moving on the next part of the assessment.. It is such a relief to see things actually progressing. The teacher indicated Dot isn't doing as well as she should be so I might send the forms to the EHCP panel as well. I've not heard anything from them yet but they have apparently knocked back every application put in for months.. I am prepared to go to tribunal on this one..
Food, and bed time I think.. I might go to bed at the same time as the girls I am super tired again today..

Good evening!
Valli how are you feeling now? You seem to be keeping busy - not overdoing it I hope!
Iona enjoy your break 😊
Round I'm glad your eye is starting to feel better - stop looking left!!
Narc0 good luck getting your form (and everything that goes with it!) done
ASB ducks! How exciting 😁 I hope all of the new birds settle quickly.
Fayolle & Mademoiselle Hugs to you both re OHs work situation (and extra to Fayolle, just because!)
I have been fairly productive today. Dog walked, LR vac'd & WM done & on the line before work. We didn't go anywhere today as we were out in the sun a lot yesterday. After work I did a couple of hours in the garden weeding & planting some seedlings. Then gave it a good soaking with the hose.
Our crazy cat is poorly this evening. He has been sick and squitty 😥 He is quiet, but okay and tucked up in the kitchen. He is young, strong & lively (normally) so I will see how he is in the morning. He may be over-heated 🤷♀️ but he also catches flies & anything else he can, and eats them 🤢
On a different note....Good news! DD2 & BF should be completing on their flat purchase on 21st, although she seems to be in no rush to actually move out! 🤦♀️ much to DS's annoyance!!
Hugs, sticks & spoons to anyone that needs them. Sleep well everyone!9 -
Good luck to all those job-changers/enders or whose OH are doing so.
Well, the work tender is submitted, all 11 documents of it. Thanks short-bird, I did a plan for my company (which consists of me) and a bit of a statement at the top of their questionnaire saying that I have completed it as best I can but that some points weren't applicable to a sole trader. Basically if I can't undertake the work, nobody else will inherit it. At a pinch if I fell under a bus, Mr N knows the name of my manager and would tell her! They will probably roll on the floor laughing when they see my plan, but what the heck, it's gone in now. They didn't need such a thing for the last 3 contracts I've done for them.
In between form filling, I have checked the greenhouse, taken Mr N to have his cataract looked at (op in 6-8 weeks), visited a friend, had a drumming lesson and been to Mr T. Then rang my Mum as, following Mr N's consultation, he is going to his brother's tomorrow for a few days, collecting my mum on his way home so she can stay with us Tues-Sat. She seems reasonably clear about the plan now (yesterday she was adamant I hadn't told her it was NEXT WEEK, which of course I had).
So I will have several days to catch up on the 3 reports left to write up, until I do another assessment on Monday. Perhaps I will save major flying till Monday before Mum comes, as I've also got church flowers to do and my adult lesson tomorrow. And keep running.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.12
