Very impressed Honey Bear...
I have decluttered 2 x A Touch Of Frost from the tellybox whilst knitting. I have taken the plastic containers I was using as saucers for the beans downstairs; they need washing before recycling. I also need to wash the vase as I have now had to throw all the flowers.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear10 -
Work done. Dinner done, kitchen tidied, dw running. Spare bedding stripped and run through the wm to dry overnight. Bedding re-sorted so that the spare bedding is actually in the bed settee storage where it belongs. No idea who moved it…
DH has been up to the allotment again this evening, this time to strim the grass. I’m not complaining about all this exercise he is getting, although he will never in a million years be a skinny minnie, I just hope it is having some benefit to his weight.DD is bored…it’s only just June, so she needs to find something positive to occupy her mind.
Is tomorrow The Day, Round? Thinking of you and sending you massive supporting vibes xx7 -
Great news Kazwookie.
- I managed to finish a report by about 1am but hovered in the WAC room for a while worrying about my elderly mother. Don't we all, those who are lucky enough to have them/have good ones? That made me late waking up......however I was determined to go for a run regardless of tiredness and building heat. Yep, running was hot, but I did a route which includes 2 woodlands so that wasn't too bad. Making a real effort to check step reading, not so much for the running as I know when I've done that, but one one abysmal day last week when all I'd done was admin, I clocked up the grand total of 329 steps. No wonder I'm not slinky.
- Zoom meeting with friend/work colleague
- Read through all conditions/questions/gubbins I need to fill in to apply for the assessor job again. Ick. Loads about "business continuity management" most of which is irrelevant as I am a sole trader so if I drop dead, there is no contingency plan. Loads on data protection. Anyway at least I've got an overview of it all.
- watered greenhouse. Planted a few patio pot seedlings.
- Minor bit of tidying and flying; we had dinner guests on Saturday so blitzed the lounge, diner, hall, kitchen and bathroom and they are still fine.
- Booked next week's swim at the gym; we can do it up to 8 days in advance.
- Started another report.
- caught up with some emails.
- Applied to transfer a BS savings bond which has matured into a new one. Pathetic interest. Filled in the forms, walked down to post box with it.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Hi all
Feel a bit better about things. Had a bit of a moan to a colleague and she wasnt sympathetic, in a strange way it helped because it made me realise that I am responsible for my own happiness and there is no point in relying on anyone else to make me feel better.
DS turned up as he had some lieu time off work so wanted to use my hoover to clean his car. He turned off the SC to make a bacon sandwich and forgot about it, flattened the battery on my cordless vac and didnt put it back on charge, trampled dried mud all over the utility then took Henry outside and left him there while he went to cricket. Oh and he announced that he was coming back for some tea and was bringing his washing. I do love having him around..
Natty such a relief, getting DLA for DS changed our lives because it meant I could give up work and care for him full time.
Have hoovered right through, sorted some summer clothes, made chicken casserole, sorted some recycling, done 7.5 hours paid stuff, done a bodyweights class and 20 minutes yoga.
Oh and we had a jackdaw down the chimney in the LR. It sat behind the fire guard looking at me calmly. I rang DH in a panic but it waited until he came home and rescued it.
It has been quite a day. Round I have got you my dear and not letting go. Much strength for tomorrow x10 -
Today, among other things, I have
- done an hour's gardening before breakfast and another after lunch
- decluttered a Zoom meeting
- done WMx4 and hung it all out
- found and typed out four poems relevant to a friend's latest project and sent them to her
- walked Rosie (slowly)
- sorted computer files
- decluttered about 30 emails
- had a WhatsApp conversation with DS2, who is feeling a bit better but still taking things very easy
- bought a new, lightweight mower
- booked a table for Thursday evening
- watched Fake or Fortune.
Doesn't look much, but it's progress! I've suddenly gone very tired...
Have you packed your bag, round? I will be thinking of you tomorrow xx
Well done HB. I'm having my hair professionally clipped tomorrow too.10 -

Hello Narc0 👋 Lovely to see you posting. 26th June is creeping up and I still haven't done any running 😱 I will be walking it at this rate!
Round I will be thinking of you tomorrow 😊
HB I'm glad you have found your energy. What is your secret? 😁
Busy day - 2 loads of washing done, including DS's bedding. A few hours at the allotment, pulling up weed membrane & moving paving slabs. I had to come home because I ran out of water (for me) and was over heating! Built a mud kitchen (well, I tried - but then just directed DH 😂). Grass has been cut, washing up done, garden watered, DW done.
Paid stuff tomorrow - hopefully the children will all be over their coughs & colds now. I am hoping for a snot free week!
Sleep well everyone! 😘9 -
ROUND - You will be in my thoughts today my lovely xxx
Natty - absolutely brilliant news love, so pleased for you xx
Yesterday consisted mainly of dog walks, naps and school runs. I also got some laundry line dried and sold some eggs to a new customer. That was as much as I felt able to achieve in a day, today will be a big dog walk after school run then home to start a new book. I haven't got a book on the go at the moment but I really need one to help me relax.
I am going to finish this cuppa and chivvy the children along to get ready. Big hugs to you all xx11 -
Morning all. Thinking of Round today.
Yesterday, just the dailies were done as I met up with friends in the morning and afternoon. This means I have some catching up to do today although dailies are done and the dogs have had a walk. I need to
Put out the washing in the machine since yesterday
Wash up the breakfast dishes
Prep food for the dogs
Sort out car insurance for DH and other admi
Make progress on a project and order materials
Meet up with friends this evening.
There are other things including flying that need doing but those are my priorities.
Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.11 -
