Thank you for the screen grabs !

I bought a hardback book recently , a particular edition and instead a paperback one arrived ,  I had wanted this particular edition to match the rest of the set. I emailed the seller and explained I had the wrong version and he referred to the listing which now showed the one he had sent, yet my order clearly showed the HB version I had bought - I wasn’t sure how to screen shot though to show it here . I opened a SNAD and seller responded again with a link to the current book, I did respond basically with a cut and paste showing the listing I bought (that was complicated as I ended up having to do it as a photo as I couldn’t see how else to do it!) and ebay found in my favour as I expected them to.

  • I think I know what this is! I think it's caused by the information attached to the barcode/ean number being incorrect, or the seller using the wrong barcode for their product. I'm going to guess that the eBay catalogue, which other sellers may recognise as being a piece of absolute headache inducing garbage, was originally populated by someone selling them in sets of 3. Unfortunately every seller after that first person who sells a "loreal plum lipstick etc etc" will be presented with that barcode and that catalogue info by eBay, and they probably won't notice that it's for three lipsticks. The page that shows the title as 3x is not specific to the seller, it's attached to the barcode. That's why people are commenting about it being like Amazon.
OP, if you contact eBay customer service and explain it to them, they may refund you out of eBay's pocket as it's not entirely the sellers fault. Also if you wanted to be nice you could let the seller know what has happened, as they are probably wondering as well and may want to make some changes to their listing to avoid the problem in future.
Currently if you click through you get the official loreal outlet selling a choice or 1 or 2 lipsticks in a choice of colours - so the barcode is clearly still wrong and causing problems!
