I raised a case with Paypal and have just received a refund and "The case was closed in your favour."
It appears that Suttons did respond to the emails from Paypal.
That's good news. Did you manage to save a proportion of the plugs?

I received that e-mail last night. Seriously thinking of cancelling (They've given me the option) as I'll be taking a holiday (In the UK, hopefully....) soon after.

I haven’t received that email (yet?) but this afternoon I cancelled my order and asked for a refund.  I’d  emailed customer service and just been told I should have the plants (ordered 28 April) mid July.

I have also contacted them by email to their customer services several times now.  At the beginning of June, I was told they were due to be sent out in the next 3-5 days and they were delayed because the weather had slowed down their growth, but they never arrived.  I contacted them again last week and this time I was told that the first lot they had grown were no good and that they were not happy with them. So they have now started from scratch and had sown another lot and these will be sent out to customers around 15th July.

I think I'll ask for a refund too now.

I found it quite deceitful actually.

i was sent an offer for bedding plants which I bought.

Promised despatch starting 14th of May then got an email stating 28th of May. Got them on 7th of June.

Apparently they took the order first then grew the plants (I thought they were getting rid of excessive stock).

I got my plants on 7th of June. Half of them already dead and a bonus of a slug added in one pack.

After my bad review on trustpilot I got refunded for one pack of plants.

I always got brilliant quality and customer service from Suttons but last year  they were bought over by the company that owns Thomson and Morgan who are notoriously bad for their quality.

Never again. Sad way to part with a company I was a customer of for years.

You were lucky, I haven't seen any of my plants yet, email support replies just say, "yeah, sorry, they're coming, honest"

  • Refund received today. Pity about the plugs but I guess under the circumstances the poor service level is just about understandable. If you decide, like I did to opt for a refund, in your email subject do put MSE and also to speed the process along also your post code and/or your order reference. Good luck :)

I've given up hope my plants will arrive and I no longer have space for them as I'd originally planned in my garden. I requested a refund Today, adding the info recommended above :(
