Symbio Energy threatening me with court action

OP,what you think your bill should be is based on what?.
If it's based on anything other than the actual units consumed,in this current property then it's most probably wrong.
You know that Symbio bill a month in advance though, yes?,that might help explain why it's larger than you were expecting if you didn't know, not to the extent they estimate though.
It might be helpful to you if you can post your bills, with identifiable information removed, here and one of the cleverer folk might be able to unravel it a bit for you.
Given that we are talking roughly a quarter it's maybe a bit optimistic to expect £120 or so to cover that, particularly after a fairly prolonged cold spell,as before it's the units used, not the cost that will provide accurate information rather than vague guesstimates.1 -
Your calculations are a bit wonky.
- The decimal point in the meter readings is incorrect.
- You've calculated the standing charge for 26 days but stated 27.
- No mention of VAT.
0 - The decimal point in the meter readings is incorrect.

Thanks for the meter readings, what did Symbio put on their bill to justify their £253?

OP,who have you been paying for your electricity for the past 51 days,if they blocked your switch it's still Symbio?.
Actual readings now might provide a clearer picture as to how much your using, for example based on your stated readings your using 11ish units per day so another 51 days equals 561ish units since then, does that sound about right?.
Not directly comparable,I pay Symbio around £32ish per month for half that usage at 12.039p per unit so that would amount to around £64ish per month, excluding standing charges for your usage, again only a very broad outline.0 -
Thank you for the screenshots. What I can't see on there are the estimasted readings that Symbio have used to calculate your energy consumption for the period as (1809.94+143.26=) 1953.20kWh, rather than the 301kWh that your get from your meter readings. There's definitely something not right here.Symbio have estimated almost 100kWh a day in Mach and 50kWh a day in April, which seems a bit loopy.N. Hampshire, he/him. You’ve omitted page one of your bill with the actual meter readings/estimates symbio has used.
without doubt this will be a case of symbio massively exaggerating what you estimate annual usage is and billing you for a huge amount. I’m guessing they’ve taken you to court because you’ve either cancelled or not set up a direct debit.
have you actually called symbio and spoken to them. Most of the time people fire a couple of emails which are ignored and then wonder why nothing has happened. Send a formal written complaint AND call them. If you get through to someone they should be able to sort this out for you. I had a similar problem when I originally joined symbio and they predicted I used 2000kwh in my first month because their estimated annual consumption for me was 20000 units and not 6000. It all got sorted by calling them and explaining what had happened and giving some evidence of my actual usage. CALL THEM ASAP0 -

I agree let them take you court , you have the proof open & shut case.
I have to say my personal dealings with energy companies over many years has been good, thanks to MSE,s
excellent website.
Maybe my habit of once a month meter readings are a factor i have never built up a significant credit which i do find odd that many folk build up many hundreds of £ & then find it difficult to get it back.

The bills are meaningless - all estimated. Also weird that they didn't bother with a standing charge in March.
I'd let them take me to court and provide a very comprehensive timeline of all communication with necessary meter readings/photos.1
