    Morning!
A new budget week begins and I managed to keep the overspend for last week to only 2p.

Council tax rebate hasn't hit my account, maybe after 9am? I have an Ikea afternoon planned for tomorrow, I really need new firm pillows. Ok, I don't need them, I want them 😅
I'm alone with the boys all weekend, it would be an easy way to get them out if it's as rainy as forecasted.

Next month will be the last payment for my phone, I got it on a 0% deal with Virgin 3 years ago, looking forward for that one to be gone.

This morning I dropped my phone face down on a metal thingy, the screen is gone 😭
I have 0% paypal credit available and I almost bought  a new one this morning. The S4msung website offered £205 for my current pphone but could only deliver on the 16. TCB offers 10% for Curries and they can deliver tomorrow, which was obviously less - I could trade my phone somewhere else, but the paypal payment was not available. I could call them to sort it out... I'm going into town today and will check if the local 'fix my phone' shop can do it for less than the £275 S4msung are asking for a new screen. I can live without a fitbit but I don't think I can without a phone 😬

Right... I ordered the cashback phone and paid with my cashback CC 🙈

A couple of weeks back a did an eligibility check for the no fee 21 months Sant BT card and it was very likely I'd get one with a more than enough limit. So I have applied for that and, unlike any of my previous CC applications, I did not get an answer straight away. I hope it goes through! If it does I will move the phone balance + 90% of the balance I have on the NW card with 0% until Sept/Oct. Then I can set up the DD to pay it off before the 21 months.
That leaves me with the other 0% CC until Sept/Oct and I hope this NW card I'm clearing will start offering me BT again once the balance is low, this one has no fee as well so it's all 'free'.

I came up with lots of excuses and explanations and reasons to buy a new expensive phone. I am not entirely convinced myself 😶

How  much was the cost of the replacement screen from the local place...? Mostly they seem to be pretty cheap - I think the manufacturers quote inflated amounts because they try to alarm people into thinking it's better just to buy a new phone....

The shop was closed EH, maybe they don't start at 10am sharp on a Sunday? After chatting to my sister I don't think it would've been cheaper. She had to change her screen not long ago and said these curved edges are more difficult to change and can most likely be sourced only from the manufacturers. She lives and Austria and got a €100 incentive from the govt to fix instead of replace. I will try the shop again and maybe fix this one and keep it as back up I think.

The Santndr card has been approved! Will BT when it arrives and set up the DD to clear it in 21 months.

Based on my new numbers in the Debt Payoff Planner app, my new DFD will be Jan-Feb 2024, well ahead of my birthday  🥳

The card arrived and I moved the money around. I'm feeling a bit better as even though I got the new fancy phone my debt is still lower than it was at the end of last month. Only £54 better but it's less, hoping to get it to at least £100 by the end of the month with surveys and maybe weekly budget savings.

The EF has been hit as well, I bought a new vacuum cleaner. You might remember I bought a L1dl deal a few months back, it's cordless and useless and does nothing on the carpets. 😣 At least I bought that one from the weekly spending money, it's not a huge loss.

I collected my new Sh4rk today and I love it! I am amazed at how much hair it has picked up, you should have seen me checking the contents of the dust bin as I was emptying it. 😆

Garmin forerunner - that takes me back! I still have mine I can’t part with it. I wear a Fitbit luxe now, but I’m still lazy.

Glad you like your new vac. I got a dyson cordless about 3 or so years ago and it’s a game changer. Like waving a magic wand!

I’m going to follow you because a) we owed similar amounts b) we are repaying at similar rates I think and c) you mentioned fasting and I’m thinking if doing that too.
