Yes, 28 days is correct but you don't know when the CCBC sent your defence to the claimant.

In the letter from CCBC that was dated 1st of June, it said they had received my defence and a copy is being served on the claimant. So I would expect it was sent around the 1st of June.

Still haven't heard anything else back yet.

The claimant has 28 days in which to decide whether they wish to continue.

Further to @Umkomaas' comment...

What you don't know is when the CCBC sent a copy of your Defence to the Claimant. 

It follows from that that it is not known when the Claimant has to respond to the CCBC. 

Further, we don't know what delays there are in the CCBC that means they don't send you a DQ as promptly as you might like.

Can I suggest that you keep checking your MCOL Claim History and as soon as you see that the CCBC has sent a DQ to you, you are ready to download a DQ, complete it and fire it back to the CCBC, remembering to send a copy to the Claimant of course.

I received a letter from QDR solicitors today (8/07).  The letter is dated for the 2/07/2021 but the envelope says it was sent on the 7/07/21.


My defence was received by the courts on the 1/06/ so if QDR recieved it the next day, the claim should of been "stayed" by the 30th of June.

I have been refreshing MCOL everyday as suggested by Keith and only today does it now say:
"DQ sent to you on 08/07/2021" 
I haven't received this by email or by post yet.

Should I contact the court and advise that this should of been stayed? Any suggestions or advice would be helpful. Thanks guys

Do you mean a court or do you mean the CCBC, which is a Government dept. staffed by civil servants?  If you are going to contact them, you should correct the grammatical and spelling errors as it is important that they understand what you mean: -

Your defence might have be received by CCBC on 1st June but you don't know when CCBC sent it to the claimant, who then, as you've correctly stated, have 28 days to respond.

You will likely receive your DQ by post either tomorrow or Monday.

But as I said earlier, you do not need to wait any longer....

You haven't said what the QDR letter says. Obviously they are continuing with the claim.

Of course the case is not stayed, that won't happen.    You must assume it will continue.

And when this goes to court do I need to understand all the details on the template that I used, will I get questioned on it?

Read again that list you were following when you filed your Defence.
Item 8 on that list explicitly answers your question - even has a link.

You do need to understand it.
Unlikely perhaps, but you may be asked questions like "what exactly do you mean by...".
