It's not a summons , it's a claim form from the CCBC in Northampton , a court claim , by MCOL
Name the Parking company and the total claimed
Post the issue date from the CCBC claim form below2 -
How have you followed the threads ?
Appeal ?
Ignored the initial letters ?
Is it a real court summons ?
Which parking company ?

We have yet to see a CEL claim for a PoW parking charge get to court. They always discontinue before putting anything for this site in front of a Judge. You have not received a court summons. Summons are for criminal, not civil money dispute cases. I assume you've received a county court claim (form N1) from the Northampton CCBC? If so, what is the Date of Issue shown on it?
Have you acknowledged service of the claim (forum shorthand - AOS)? If so, on what date?
I hope you haven't attempted to submit a defence yet - please confirm.Have you made any form of contact with CEL?If, as you say above, you've been following CEL/PoW threads, you will be aware of the special issues that pertain there - not relevant land (in terms of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Schedule 4), land under statutory control, no keeper liability as the main legal points, so you will need to frame your Defence around those as a minimum. How to defend the claim is detailed in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, second post, where the whole process is outlined.Come back with answers to the above questions (all of them), and you will receive a helpful timetable for you to follow, produced by forum regular @KeithP, normally within the space of the day. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Hi it’s from CEL and it’s for £279.92 including Fees and court costs I really cannot afford this after being made redundant,it is at Northampton court, I have received letters to pay previously but have not had any dealings with them.
Thank you0 -
It's a CCBC claim from Northampton , but it came from a government civil service office , not from a court , it's from a business centre , not much different than the DVLA in Swansea or the Pension service in Gateshead , or the DWP in Belfastharryrex08 said:Hi it’s from CEL and it’s for £279.92 including Fees and court costs I really cannot afford this after being made redundant,it is at Northampton court, I have received letters to pay previously but have not had any dealings with them.

Your ability to pay or not is irrelevant and won't be taken into account
But if you lost , in your local county court ( or on the telephone or by video link ,) the total would be say £200 , to be paid within one month , or you will get a CCJ and trash your credit rating !! ( So not £280 )1 -
I asked a number of questions, you've only answered a couple. Some of those you've avoided/missed are important, we can't give you full help without those answers. Please re-read my post, make a note of the questions, then answer those missed so far.harryrex08 said:Hi it’s from CEL and it’s for £279.92 including Fees and court costs I really cannot afford this after being made redundant,it is at Northampton court, I have received letters to pay previously but have not had any dealings with them.

i haven’t acknowledged service of the claim. With a Claim Issue Date of 21st May, you have until Wednesday 9th June to file an Acknowledgment of Service. Do not file an AoS before 26th May, but otherwise there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.To file an AoS, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Having filed an AoS, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 23rd June 2021 to file your Defence. That's over four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.2
