Yes the charge points have no instructions which left people confused for weeks about what had changed. I believe you scan the QR code and then it links to some payments system. Obviously some people are right, it's a luxury (albeit a company car) but its noticeable how empty those spaces have been since they started charging (infact I counted three ICE vehicles in them the other day!).
Back to good products though, love the Mini Twister lollies they sell at Aldi, £1.69 for six (quite a steep rise, I think a few months back they were 99p) but they are exactly the same as the real thing in texture and taste.1 -
Rosa_Damascena said:I made a point of parking by the EV in Aldi this evening so I could inspect it without looking suspicious. I didn't see a direct means of payment (all the instructions were visual rather than written) but I did see a QR code. Guess that would be used to gather payment?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I went to my local Lidl on Monday and snapped up 5 Kg of chicken breasts for just over £11 two * 2Kg at £3.75, 70% off and 1 Kg 30% off at £3.85. I'm normally one of the first customers in the store on a Monday and head straight for the meat section.Someone please tell me what money is1

Back to Lidl, there has been a distinct lack of orange stickers lately.Someone please tell me what money is1 -
New product at Aldi (also a "Limited Edition"): Rainbow Prawn Salad (bowl). 265g £1.99
A bold attempt to create quite a sophisticated mix of textures and flavours in a standard-sized individual salad bowl. It's a mix of good-sized prawns, thin rice noodles, a variety of vegetable pieces and strips, edamame beans and spicy thai dressing in a separate sachet. Inevitably, there need to be more prawns and more dressing, but other than that quite a different kind of salad with interesting flavours and a little spicy heat.
Good value for money.1 -
Lidl's Red Kidney beans starting to inch up again, now 33p up from 30p previous...
i always feel like i should be buying the bigger bags of dried beans elsewhere, but they require both hours of soaking and cooking, which feels less than economical these days with the energy prices, not that i've done the maths2 -

National minimum wage = ?? £10/hour? Each minute is worth 17p to save 3p on a tin. Nope. Looking at the Lidl online leaflets and there are no weekend offers next weekend.

I've been thinking along the same lines for tins of butter beans. I priced them up in our local Asian supermarkets and even getting 3 times the quantity, when cooked, it really isn't worth it IMO.
I'll keep a check on the relative prices over time but, at the moment, I'm sticking with tins from Aldi.1 -
rhcp said:Lots of orange sticker items in Lidl today. I got 1.4kg of pork chops for £4.19. Maybe it was because I went in a bit earlier than normal, will have to go in earlier more often!rhcp said:Looking at the Lidl online leaflets and there are no weekend offers next weekend.I've always found the online leaflets hit & miss. For weekend offers I prefer the top banner on their offers page, although as you say, there's no super weekend listed. https://www.lidl.co.uk/c/xxl-week/c2432/w2I've got my eye on some of the XXL offers. I suspect my local store won't have any stock, but if they do, I'll be grabbing a pack of 48 tins of tuna. https://www.lidl.co.uk/p/xxl-week/nixe-tuna-chunks-in-brine/p54134 Can't go wrong at 35p a tin, and it keeps forever.1
