Popped into lidl today and cheese is now £2.49!  Everytime I go in it seems to go up in price.  £1.79 not long ago.
The 900g block was still £3.99 in Lidl last week I buy the larger 900g block as it lasts me two weeks or more.
Someone please tell me what money is

How do you keep it from going fluffy??  Our simply doesn't last nicely.  We do use it up as much as we can - getting rid of the impossible bits - but it seems a waste for us to get a large chunk.

Depending on how you use cheese @Brie,  you could grate some of the block and freeze. 🤔

When you say fluffy do you mean mouldy?  Ha! Cheese has never gone mouldy in this house but as @maman say you could cut/grate and freeze, defrosted cheese tends to be a it more crumbly but no loss of taste.

WOrth doing if the price difference is worth it.  Sadly my cheese of choice is Waitrose Davidstow mature, I always buy it on special offer though at £4 for 550g

It also depends on how you store it. If I wrap in cling film and forget about it, it will develop mould. However if I leave it in the packet and then wrap over, if its not a resealable wrap, it doesn't . I can have blocks of cheese open in the fridge for weeks, might get dry edges but thats ok for toasting/cooking but not mould
  • Lidl has changed its generic tomato ketchup - now in a different (bigger) round squeeze bottle, with a different name, for 99p. Has anyone tried it yet?

Anyone know what has happened to the pitta bread in Aldi and Lidl? They have not been available for months now. I asked one of the staff at Aldi and she said they've run out. But it's been the same the last few months. Is it out of stock at my local Aldi or has it been discontinued?

Waitrose suddenly stopped selling their own label pitta breads last year.  Apparently their supplier had gone under and they had difficulty finding another.  They've only just relaunched in the last couple of weeks, presumably from a new supplier.

It could well be that Aldi and Lidl had the same supplier and are also struggling to find replacements.

Tesco has come up short on pittas more than once as well.  Who knew this would happen?   How many years back and none of us would have known a pitta from a python.

I hadn't seen any for ages, but they have started appearing at Lidl every now and then.  I just get mine from Asda now, they seem to have a plentiful supply.
