It won't let me quote and then type outside that box. Grrr.
Agree with you about cheese Longwalker. Lidl extra mature is unbeatable as an everyday cheese. Toasts well, good texture, good deep flavour, good crusty salt layer (that only gets better if you keep well stocked up so they go out of date before you get to them. YUM)
When I see the price matched adverts I always think - 'yeah ok fine. Now match the quality + price and I'll consider it.' A few quid on a hunk of cheese in Lidl/Aldi is nothing like what your few quid would get you on a hunk of cheese in Tesco. The only thing I buy in Tesco now is loo rolls. And maybe a scratch card if I've taken a bump to the head.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -

So I had said "don't buy the Panzerrotti cherry biscuits from Lidl. There are multiple issues with them."- no price on the shelf so no idea what they cost until I got them to the till. And then I was too busy chatting to notice before leaving. £2.19 for a relatively small box of biscuits. But there were 2 types - the cherry ones I hadn't had before and chocolate hazelnut Fior ones which were lovely and I could justify the price for those.
- Fior ones had 12 biscuits in a 140g box. Not a lot but very nice so fine. But the cherry ones had 4 (four!!) biscuits, albeit these were larger. So essentially 55p a biscuit. Whackingly overpriced unless these were hand made treats - which they weren't. To be clear the packaging made it obvious that there were supposed to be just 4 in the pack.
- Taste & quality.......minimal. Not a pleasant thing to eat, not much flavour, nothing special about them, almost stale tasting. So def not worth 55p each!!
- Having eaten one of them I was thinking about it and decided I was too disappointed to let this pass so went back to take a look at the 3 remaining biscuits. One was a bit mis-shapen and slightly burnt looking. The other 2 looked okay but then I wondered how much they all weighed as they weren't huge. The burnt one was about 28g and the other 2 about 30g each. The one I had eaten was about the same size so the whole contents of the box would have weighed about 120g but was labelled as 140g which is a significant difference.
Autoreply back instantly of course but another response about an hour later asking for the BBD which I sent back with another code that was there.
Not too long after that I got a letter of apology with a strong comment expressing their concern for the product being underweight (which admittedly I said I believed was illegal.....). This included a voucher for the full price of the product plus £5. So a total of £7.19.
That's fine. Things happen sometimes. I've done my bit by feeding back. They've done theirs by apologising and making me happy that I had contacted them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Why have Aldi done away with the coloured milk bottle tops ??
Green top semi skimmed.
Blue top full fat.
Now all the bottles have got white tops !!
What a strange thing to do.
Is it just my local Aldi or countrywide?
