It is sad that chocolate manufacturers have adulterated traditional brands of chocolate to make more profit, and have ruined them.
We found Montezuma Absolute Black at 85p for 90g at the new Waitrose in Dobbies Garden Centre. Thank you for the recommendations.
    That's quite some bargain!!!

I like Green & Blacks chocolate.
    No idea about additives though.
So rich you only have to have one or two pieces.

I don't have a very sweet tooth but love dark chocolate, like you just a piece or 2 at a time. A bar will last me months in the fridge.

I checked all the bit fancier choc in Lidl this morning, they all have soya lecithin in them.

Edit because it deleted half my post when I hit ‘post’ ?!

Just did it again? Mods! There’s gremlins in the system!

Out of interest, what’s the issue with SL @nelliegrace

Well I did my shopping tour this morning ...
    - Aldi
    - Home Bargains
    - Iceland
    - Lidl
    - Sainsbury's
    - Tesco
    - Wilko
    - ASDA
... dark choc on my list.

I actually bought Aldi but I looked at the 'Ms Molly's' (Tesco) it contains 'sunflower lecithin', which appears to be a health supplement and is 'Rainforest Alliance Certified' the reviews are very good. It is also the equal cheapest at 43p for 100g.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned and I am no chocolate connoisseur ... now whisky ...  ;)

I tried Lidl's (top range) Madagascan vanilla custard last night - pale, thin and overly sweet, I would have been better off leaving a tub of vanilla Carte D'Or out of the freezer and slurping that. I'd take yellow starch-thickened custard from the chiller cabinet over this product any day.

The bog standard mozarella has really crept up in price over time. The days when it was 42p are long gone, its now 69p.

True but still good value and mighty tasty too.  Perfect this time of year with ripe tomatoes and basil.
