Worrying reports there about Aldi eggs - thanks!  Was considering a click and collect this week to make up for the ones that Tesco didn't deliver, but maybe not!  Morrisons, Waitrose and Ocado seem to have no problems - maybe they're paying a better price.

From a personal viewpoint I'd rather have the things at a higher price than none at all - a least that way there's a choice.
Eggs tend to run out quickly at my Aldi, mainly due to several local cafes buying them in bulk and just leaving the expensive free range 6 packs...

Yes - around here there's a LOT of B&Bs and it's normally cheaper, quicker, easier for them to go to a Aldi/Lidl to get their provisions rather than go all the way across town to where there's a full scale business supermarket cash and carry.

I'd be in trouble if cafés did the same with cakes

Speaking of Aldi 6 pack crisps, has anyone else seen multipack light crisps in 'classic' (salt n vinegar, cheese n onion, ready salted) flavours? Ours only has 6 packs ready salted plus ready salted, smoky bacon and some other flavour (I only say that as I don't want them so no idea what it is).

I'm addicted to Aldi's new-style bbq lentil chips, but they are £1.35 for a six-pack.

Has anyone else's Aldi put up notices reminding customers to empty all their bags onto the conveyor AND then having their shopping bags searched, before they start scanning.🤔

Or maybe we just have a local light-fingered problem 😉
I’d be extremely surprised if that’s national.
I have a mobility scooter, when shopping I use an ikea large bag that I put my shopping in as I go around Lidl then empty the contents on to the conveyor belt. If I only get a small amount of shopping I put it in the basket on the back of the scooter after it's gone through the checkout putting the large shopping bag behind me on the seat.
I've never being asked to prove there is nothing in the bag as I crumple it up before I but it at the back of the seat. Once when I had quite a bit of shopping I didn't put a tin of pineapple slices through the checkout but paid for them after I realised when going to fill the bag.
Someone please tell me what money is

anybody had problems with the quality of "fresh" salmon in Aldi or Lidl?  I'm finding that even if I buy packs that are well before their BBD and even if I freeze the remnants in plenty of time when I go to cook and eat they are on the verge of off.  Problem is that there's only 2 places to buy fish near us - one fishmongers and a fish counter at one of the Waitrose - neither of which are convenient for me to get to.  All of which is very disappointing as I live within a couple of miles of a harbour with fishing boats.
