Milk tends to be ok past it's use by by a week or two if you open it late and drink it quick in my experience.Rosa_Damascena said:A positive for Lidl: I picked up 4 pints of SS milk on Sunday before last without paying much attention to what was left in the chiller cabinet. Was away last week and realised when I returned and made a cup of tea that it was organic and expired on 15.11.22 (last Tuesday).I finished it today, and am pleased to report it was fine in hot drinks
I've had milk go off before the use by before because I opened in the day it I bought it, drank some left it for a few days went back to it and was greeted with a bit of a whiff once opened.
It's one of them if it smells bad don't consume it.1 -
Thats the thing: it was opened on the Sunday as I had run out, and lasted 9 days. So I can't fault it.Coffeekup said:

I find it has more to do with the temperature of the fridge rather than how old it is. Our indoor fridge gets opened much more than the one in the garage where we store any extras. So 2 identical bottles, 1 in each fridge, the indoor bottle has, at times, gone off even before it's BBD. Got Tesco to refund me once before I realised that it's actually our set up to blame. Not helped by he who shall not be named standing with the fridge door open looking for whatever is in the middle of the top shelf right in front of his pudgy face.Rosa_Damascena said:

I've noticed on the Lidl Plus App that after a qualifying spend of £250 the £10 coupon has been replaced by 10% off shop. This will be, for me, about £6 maximum.

yes - it's a great shame that the spend has been stretched.thriftytracey said:I've noticed on the Lidl Plus App that after a qualifying spend of £250 the £10 coupon has been replaced by 10% off shop. This will be, for me, about £6 maximum.
We've changed our shopping mode to do one big spend at the beginning of the month to maximise the discount - this does mean I have to meal plan for most of the month in advance.
However for me, the bottom line is if the supermarket offer doesn't meet my requirements then time to change. If Aldi substantially undercuts Lidl then I'm off to Aldi.Fashion on the Ration 2025 46/664 -

. There is no way I would spend £25 in one go at Lidl otherwise. Not that I have that flyer myself so any benefit is notional.
I have just opened up a bag of Lidl's mixed nuts that have been lurking in my pantry. Expired 02/2021, taste perfectly fine to me.
