Tbh I was a Lidl piddled off at Lidl today. The excitement in snagging a pistachio panettone was offset by the app refusing to work at the till, meaning I couldn't activate my coupons.

So much to read, so little time.

That sometimes happens to us, usually when we have snagged a few would be bargains. There are a few nice offers though, we did manage to get some free Lidl jaffa cakes yesterday and my wife picked up a couple of the little cocktails, the £3.25 ones in the round containers, which are quite tasty and are 13% proof.

I contacted Lidl CS about this and was not disappointed with their response. I have to hand it to Lidl, they get this aspect of their service spot on! I bought some Christmas goodies from Waitrose this evening but will get the rest from Lidl.

Lidl Deluxe Mince Tarts - I got these half-price with one of the many seasonal vouchers that Lidl have.   They are strictly tarts (not pies) - hockey puck shaped and without masses of cheap mincemeat (more like a good selection of dried fruit).   The pastry is crumbly and crisp at the edges and on the thin top.

I got the Amaretto variety but couldn't really smell or taste any sign of it.   But overall, a pretty nice alternative to the more standard pies.   Not worth the full price of £3/6 tarts, but good at £1.50.

The standard sized Deluxe version are a better deal - I had a 1/2 price voucher and bought 3 packs for 75p each. Have added them to my stash of seasonal goodies for visitors over the festive season.

What are Lidl jaffa cakes like ? Are they tiny (Mcvities have shrunk over the years)

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Grabbed a couple of packs of the mince pies, was going to get some anyway as they are quite nice so at 75p were a bargain.  Plus a couple of packs of Dean's shortbread for £1.75 each and today's coupon was for Stollen so popped in on my way past and got one for £1.99 instead of £3.49

I like them the size is about the same as any other I think. Really nice with a cup of tea.

In reviews, people found them better than the originals. All I know is, they are very tasty.
