I'm no expert but I can only imagine the demand for air con in workplaces and homes is going to be through the roof.
I use giant chiller units in my industry and they will be drawing huge amounts of power over the next 2 days.

    Question,
How do Octopus pay the SEG payments?
Is it paid to your bank account?
    Are you sent a cheque?
Does it go as credit on your account?
I have incoming, outgoing elec and gas with Octopus. So once a month I get 3 payments on my account - gas and incoming elec to Octopus and outgoing elec from them.

The peak is the usual 6pm, when people are expected to be cooking their evening meal. Looking at that I would expect that the RE today is dominated by solar, not wind, which is why the price falls off the cliff when the sun dips below a certain level.

I've just had a look and solar seemed to peak at about 7.5GW around mid day today. Wind dropped to less than 2GW early this morning. So it isn't surprising that the price steps up when the sun dips. Also suggests that the market doesn't expect the wind to pick up again this evening like it did yesterday - or if it does, not till after the super red period.

Me too! Although I don't get very high peaks, I do get longer generation. It is very satisfying to take the sting out of the evening peak.

Today I have also noticed a nice side effect of the panels - the rooms underneath are cooler. I have one room with no loft, but it is also not under the panels and it is noticeably warmer than the room next to it!
