Just filled the form in for SEG with octopus. Hopefully will move to octopus in the future.

I had the DNO approval in Nov (G99) and the solar was installed in Jan. The battery install took its sweet time and was done in June. The rest of the the commissioning approval took a while due to the number of inverters (1 Givenergy Ac coupled + 20 Enphase).“Don't raise your voice, improve your argument." - Desmond Tutu

I would just like to say thank you, to everyone in this forum and particularly those that have commented on this discussion about the different tariffs.
I have been on Octopus outgoing fixed since getting my SEG last spring. I was pretty happy with it.
But reading these boards prompted me to see if I could do better. So I enquired about Outgoing Agile and was sent a link. I didn't follow it immediately as I thought it was for incoming agile and that wasn't what I wanted. Anyway on Saturday I clicked the link. When I looked this morning, it confirmed it was import. Went looking for a phone number and stumbled across an application for Octopus Outgoing with an option for Agile. Filled that in and waited....
Didn't expect to login this evening and discover that I've already been switched! To Outgoing Agile. In less than one business day.
So thank you to everyone who's comments prompted me to be persistent.4.3kW PV, 3.6kW inverter. Octopus Agile import, gas Tracker. Zoe. Ripple x 3. Cheshire7 -
Sorry but very basic comment : those rates are incredible compared with the fixed 7.5p or 4.1.I am stuck on British Gas with the price cap. But should I be moving to Octopus and getting Agile with rates like those? Should I tolerate the hike from 29p to 39p per kwh in view of the massive amounts being paid for outgoing agile? In short-- is it worth me giving up the price cap to get those sweet sweet agile rates?London. 6.4kwh system, South facing. 16 Hyundai 400kw all black panels w/ optimisers, 6kw Solaredge HD Wave inverter, Solar Iboost with two immersion heaters on one 240l hw tank. The real question you should be asking is: how long do you expect energy prices to remain this high? Whatever the answer, it is likely to be higher than 7.5p for a while...- 10 x 400w LG + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial Panels + SE 3680 HD Wave Inverter + SE Optimizers. SE London.

Maybe look at what Octopus could offer on the import side first. I looked at their fixed tariff, now they are offering one again, out of interest and nearly had heart failure!
Someone told me they were fixing now as a way to hedge against October, January and April cap rises. But I don't think I could bring myself to take that sort of risk to hedge.
My hedge is to buy a solar inverter, though I've promised my husband I won't turn it on while the Agile outgoing rates are so high. We went out for Sunday dinner today so we could export as much as possible on todays 40p+ super red rates!4.3kW PV, 3.6kW inverter. Octopus Agile import, gas Tracker. Zoe. Ripple x 3. Cheshire0 -
I'm glad that people are finding this thread useful.Although I kicked off the thread, next month I'll be starting my second year on Octopus Go which excludes me from the Outgoing tariffs. Because of that, and because my solar array is relatively small & I self-comsume around half of my generation, I'm still on deemed FIT export payments.I'll look again in another year.N.
