I was on agile exports averaging 11-12p pkwh so now fixed in their 15p pkwh, question is when will we see the import prices drop?

Import prices *have* dropped, if you're on Agile or Tracker.

And the cheap rate period price on Go was cut from IIRC 12.5p/kWh to 9.5p/kWh.

For me, another 11 months. For new customers they will surely have to drop it down to 10p or even lower

QrizB surprised at your deemed export figure, ours is now 4.82p/kWh on 50% deemed export with panels dating from 2011.  Shame Go does not seem to allow any worthwhile export tariff for those with FIT .... One year into Go shows we actually exported 1313kWh,  so perhaps we should take in washing, or ironing!

That will probably be because I've quoted it as "per kWh generated" but you've quoted it as "on 50% deemed export". My figure is half yours as I'm applying it to 100% of generation!

    Bumping my thread ...
With day-ahead wholesale electricity under £120//MWh (12p/kWh) since the second week of April, and under £100/MWh (10p/kWh) for most of May, Octopus with their 15p/kWh Fixed export tariff are paying households more than the wholesale price for their surplus electricity.
How long do we think it will last?
It's been two whole years since I wrote that and wholesale prices have almost halved :o but Octopus might finally be getting ready to reduce what they pay on Outgoing Fixed.

I'm a couple of months away from being a year on octopus 15p export, and have been wondering how long it can be sustained.
As we all know, there are peak periods, and it would make sense for them to pay less off peak and more on peak, and would highlight the benefit of batteries over solar only.

My crystal ball says its only a matter of time, and that time won't be much longer.

For my own part I set my batteries on full discharge between 4pm and 8pm as I feel this is the right thing to do, but just because I think that, doesn't mean it is

For what it's worth (ie nothing) I am inclined to agree.

If the afternoon solar export price goes below the overnight EV price then I would probably not fully charge at night, top up the batteries with solar in the afternoon, and then discharge at, hopefully, premium rate in the evening peak, leaving enough to see through to the next cheap import window.

Might need the help of some automation that takes account of weather forecasts to make it work seamlessly.

I agree with the sentiments above, but one does wonder how that sits with the rates being paid on Intelligent Octopus Flux (IOF) which has a standard day rate of 22.4p and a peak rate of 29.8p for both import and export, significantly above the current SEG and wholesale rates.
