Doesn't outgoing agile just follow wholesale prices? Next months cap in that regard won't have any effect on it.

    That's my understanding, yes.
Of course the cap is based on forward energy prices, so an increase in the cap would suggest that prices are going to increase. But it's not a mechanistic link and day-ahead prices show their own variations

Increasing to 15p/kw that's pretty industry leading. I guess a majority won't export much over the autumn and winter but that's a great price.
Will others follow suit I wonder?
One nuanced benefit few know about. If Octopus cannot capture a half hourly export reading from your smart meter for any reason, their terms state that they will default to the fix SEG tariff for that time slot. This happens automatically via their billing systems and is particularly relevant with SMETS-1 smart meters, that are 2X more likely to experience a missed reading.
    I wish!

I had to send 30 emails to Octopus to get credited for export for June because there was a single half hour slot missing on one day. Even now, they have not credited me for the whole of that day. Which coincidentally was my record day for export (40KWh).

Although, hopefully they have changed their terms recently.

Octopus is clearly aligned to capture as much of the EV/ Solar market as possible.
This is exactly the right, as a renewable energy provider I'd say the more solar PV domestic supply you can "own" the more beneficial it is.
I'd love this to lead to a different type of energy market that allowed trading of output.

I've had better luck getting this out of them over a phone call but it is clearly stated in their terms for Outgoing Agile.

I assume the 15p is only for Octopus supply customers and everyone else still only gets 4.1p?
    I think....

We've got a windy weekend ahead, this is from the Met Office:

    Headline:

Clear or sunny intervals and blustery showers, breezy but mild.

    This Evening and Tonight:

Rain and coastal gales clear southeast England early tonight. Clear spells and scattered showers follow for most areas, showers heaviest and most frequent in the northwest, a few reaching eastern areas. Breezy for most, possible gales in the coastal northwest.

    Saturday:

Blustery showers continuing in the west and north, some heavy. Eastern parts seeing longer bright interludes but isolated showers still possible. Patchy rain may fringe the south coast. Still breezy.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Rain should gradually clear southern England during Sunday. Showers elsewhere dying out to leave a mainly fine day Monday. Further rain spreads southeast Tuesday. Becoming windy in the northwest.

Agile has plunge pricing overnight, so a good time to charge batteries:
Not looking great for Outgoing Agile, although if the weather's bad I guess there won't be much solar PV to sell anyway:

Tomorrow isn't looking too bad, 300 to 400W/m2 solar radiation.
