Realised I was out of capers so popped into Sains'y's for some and then to the bakers for nice baguette for dinner so my new total is £68.05/£120 with an average daily spend of £4 dead. That's an improvement and I'm determined to stick to it.Things you didn't know about having long hairAlways put it up before sitting down on the loo!4

@GSDMum I spotted a large bottle of sweet chilli dipping sauce in Morries and stuck it in the store-cupboard ages ago. Last time I did stir-fry it was a bit spur of the moment with fridge veg and dried egg noodles and I had no stir fry sauces so I used a bit more garlic, a couple of frozen chillies, a dash of soy sauce and a good dollop of that sweet chilli sauce - we thought it was better than the sachets! and much cheaperSave £12k in 2024 - #2 target is £5000 only £798.34 so far

I've spent £24.58 this week. £12.70 at the market on a gammon joint and butter, and the rest in Sains and Adli on bread, milk fruit and sugar, including jam sugar which seems to have gone up in price a lot since last year.Grocery challenge 2024: Annual budget £323.97/12004

A few spends to report.
£17.34 at the Greengrocers
£65.79 at Lidl - £2.24 to a seperate budget for DD BDay party
£22 at Tesco - £10.62 to BDay party as managed to get a few YS deals on BBQ meat
Result is £430.62/£561
Happy with that, the freezer, storecupboard and fridge are all full. We should inevitably have leftovers from the party, though trying not to go too mad its really hard to gage how much littlies (and their parents) will eat and obviously want their to be enough. Also - baking supplies add up! A cake went into nursery this morning (her actual BDay is tomorrow) and then we're having cupcakes at the actual party as well as a birthday cake.
We're not going crazy - big plates full of sandwiches, crisps, pasta, pizza, sausage rolls etc - and then a BBQ for family after.
(She says having obviously gone a little bit crazy after lockdown and not being able to have people round much)
Plus, my baby is 2!! which feels like craziness when my brother hasn't seen her since she was 6 months old thanks to lockdown - very much looking forward to seeing him and his family this weekend.
Luckily the weather is looking good now restrictions have been extended and we can't just go indoors if it rains.

Sorry, guys, I've completely lost the plot over the weekend. We had DS1, partner and dog to stay, Ds2 & his very-expectant wife came over for a meal in the garden, and I was so busy flying about that I've completely lost track. I know I spent £45 odd at the market on Friday & £42 at the supermarket on Thursday; I can't think of anything else until a £21 supermarket spend today re-stocking but it's complete guesswork really and doesn't include the odd pennies that add up so quickly.
So I have something just under £100 to last until 30th. That does seem rather do-able - cautious optimism is in order!Angie - GC May 24 £311.12/£450: 2024 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 10/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)7
