Fox's biscuits, Seabrook crisps, Shaw's pickles, loads of farm shops (many of whom make their own award-winning pies, bread and other baked goods, besides selling the farm's meat and eggs), local dairy farms who've diversified into making ice cream, and an increasing number of micro breweries and wine/spirits producers - all these quite close to me in West Yorkshire. There are also artisan makers of jewellery, art, cakes, the written word, etc., all around my town.

I strongly object to bringing politics into food. I won't buy food plastered with nationalistic Union flags. Nor will I buy from Brexit supporting businesses or those funding hate and craziness on GB News.

I do buy direct from farms, but mostly farms in Scotland.

I still buy French and Italian cheeses as well as British ones.

I don't like buying shoddy Chinese goods but sometimes it's unavoidable eg all the light fittings we liked were made in China.

Consumers should have the choice and be able to buy what they want.

I worked for M and S in the 70s I remember posters on the walls in clothing department saying
98% of goods made in the UK
I read that only 1% of the products come from the UK now.

15% of Hobbs clothes come from UK
