I had my central heating boiler annual service done today. It's an Ideal combi boiler, and the boilers are made in the U.K. It was installed six years ago, is very efficient and has never had any problems.

I was pleasantly surprised to find various bits of British made pottery for sale in my local Homebase recently. I don't need any, so made no purchases, but certainly worth looking at if you're there. I can't remember the make but it was proper Stoke stuff.1

And soon to be back, Heinz ketchup & salad cream

I’ve just bought a Dualit newgen toaster which has a label on the bottom saying handmade in the U.K. by John (not all of their models are made in the U.K.). They are pricy but I’m hoping it will be durable - they are fully repairable which I really appreciate as it’s rare nowadays.Primrose said:Can anybody name any items of domestic equipment like, toasters, kettles, fridges etc that are made in the UK. We've had our Dualit toaster for about 10 years now and still going strong. It was the repairability which was the reason we decided it was worth the very expensive price. However in all that time it's not needed a repair anyway. We would probably have had at least 7 or 8 "cheap" toasters from the SM!Greenglockenspiel said:
