What level of support, ever use it?marialionza said:HereToday said:
I am referring specifically to the laptop chosen by your friend and the refurbs that have been presented to you here.marialionza said:HereToday said:
You appear to have misunderstood. She will get exactly the same amount of support with any of the devices. All direct from DELL and all with the same warranty. If she wants Premium Support on new or refurbished she will have to pay extra.marialionza said:J_B said:

Hmm, sadly in this game ... you snooze, you lose!marialionza said:.......... Hopefully the laptops will still be there...
I cannot rush her but I would rather she got a new one so she can have some support. I do it myself because I have two lefts hands as far as computing goes so...BUT thanks for the advise, I do appreciate it !
Better to buy the refurb device; the new one is....nowhere as good as the refurb. That is putting it mildly.
WHAT ???????????? "...the new one is....nowhere as good as the refurb"... How can it be possible? Every five years I buy a new Dell pc

thinking it was a better option ! Also because they give you Support for 5 years... I can't believe it !
I'm sure we would all like to know about the five year support from DELL to which you refer. First I have heard of it.
My pc has a 5 year support, but I bought it new. I don't know if it works for refurbished.
No need to buy a new one after 5, basic use are good for 10years.1 -

You have written that, but where is the evidence? As I wrote earlier, I have never seen a DELL 5 year support package bundled with a PC.. So perhaps you or someone else can confirm.marialionza said:HereToday said:

There is no way that DELL is giving a five year warranty with their PCs. Even on their website with new PCs, you can only buy up to four year warranties. Exactly the same with their refurbished devices.
This for a new DELL PC:
You appear to be misleading your friend.1 -
If you buy a new Business device:

Adds another £370 to the price. Of course you can negotiate, but it isn't free.
No wonder your friend needs time to think. Her head must be spinning.1
